Friggen idiots. Fire people and lay them off because they make to much money and then hire dumb butts in at a very cheap wage. Make sure the words get out what these people made before, so the new hires don't come in for any less. They need to tell LLNL to pound sand and demand higher wages then they got before they left.

If you look closely it's not LLNS hiring, it's a couple of subcontractors. You may quibble over that distinction but it is a huge difference to be working FOR the lab (as an FTE) as opposed to working AT the lab (for subcontractor). It's easier to make the flex terms and contractors vanish. That may change if Bechtel can figure out how to get rid of a lot of people via the AT WILL status we are now under, but as the game is now played, flex term and contract people are cannon fodder.

Newsflash, this is in NIF, you know, the part of the lab that got exempted from the voluntary and potential involuntary separation plan?

So far as I can see this is business as usual for NIF.

Higher turnover equals higher security risk. If we have a major security leak I suspect the entire management chain will be on the chopping block. It will be well deserved for their attempt to merge corporate hatchet tactics with a high-security environment. Wake up management, havent you been reading the news?
