I have no idea what this means. If you wish to communicate, would you please try writing in sentences - you know: nouns and verbs and stuff?

You know exactly what it means AH. It's asking everyone to put the URL to LLNL The True Story and LANL old blog on their Facebook page so what's going on at LLNL and LANL will get better coverage world wide instead of just a blog maybe someone will find if they're lucky. It's a great idea so sit back and weep. I just did it and I hope ALL LLNL employees do the same tonight. Got it bozo?

He is not an AH. You had a good idea but it was not well communicated.

I will not add this blog to my facebook until we all stop calling each other names and start working together for the best interests of current and future employees. Right now there is a lot of name calling , grammer and spell checking bean counters, and those with anger management issues. It would take a great effort to clean up this blog for outsiders. And, an even greater effort for us to treat everyone equally. No one is dead wood, for instance. They are human beings with family, dreams and accomplishments.

Clean up your house before you invite guests, family, and friends over.

The topics are getting better, but the reponses need improvement.

sent from my phone.

No one is listening. This blog has been dominated from the start by the "I hate everything" crowd. Your advice is well taken, but I'm afraid the vitriol will cloud the mind of anyone who could benefit from it. Sad.

Just a question, though: why would anyone care where you sent your message from?

I don't think it matters about the spelling bad grammer pointing out the lab had dead wood, etc. What matters by putting it on Facebook is for tax payers to realize the
labs have gone to hell under Bechtel,LLNS and LANS. When under UC it was a much better place to work, the benefits after 30 years were great and we actually had a missions. Today I think 90% of the time is spent wondering what we are going to do when weapons are gone. All that's keep the labs open is the threat of terrorism.

Anonymous said...

Yes indeed, let's get everyone at the lab to post up on a social media page that they work at the lab. Anyone here see a potential security issue in the making - telling the world you've got a security clearance. It's like the Farside cartoon of the deer with a bulls eye target on his chest "Bummer of a Birthmark." Only this one would be self inflicted.

There's no security risk fool. Anyone can search LLNL phone book on the web. It's assumed if you work at any lab you have a clearance. Post away and most definately site the URL to LLNL The True Story blog.

One more for the social media to read How the labs are going to screw the employees just one more time. Can you sya, " can I have another" please..

SUBJECT: IMPORTANT CHANGES TO HEALTH CARE PLANS

Because of key changes to the Laboratory’s health benefits
offerings that will affect all of us in the coming year, I’d like
to invite you to attend an all-employee meeting at 9 a.m. on
Tuesday, Sept. 17 in the NSSB Auditorium.

We will explain the changes and the reasons for them, including
our need to attract and retain highly skilled and productive
employees while coping with the increasing healthcare costs
nationally and in our own workforce.

The changes will affect a number of areas including the types of
plans offered, deductibles and co-payments. Each employee will
need to make an active selection during the coming open enrollment
period.

Tuesday’s meeting will be the first of many opportunities to
gather additional information, but I feel it’s important to start
this process with you in person.

Please join me on Tuesday. The meeting is open to all badge
holders and will also be broadcast on ViewIt.

SUBJECT: IMPORTANT CHANGES TO HEALTH CARE PLANS

Sounds ominous. Obviously, it won't be good news in terms of our medical lab benefits. More cuts. Higher fees dumped on the employees for medical care. More stagnant salaries. More contributions from salaries to support the pension which the LLCs refuse to help with their profit fees.

But perks for the executives running the LLCs at the NNSA labs? Those can't be cut, only increased!

Per the usually, they trot out this memo on a Friday afternoon.

Many employers are starting to drop family and spousal coverage for employees. They are dumping them into the upcoming Obamacare system and forcing employees to pick up all the costs.

Is LANS about to do likewise? Is retirement medical about to be dropped or severely cut, too?

people are naive if they do not see the potential of this blog to make a very poor public impression. do you remember when the lank folks got spanked by congress for their blog? they wised up and theirs has moved to an undisclosed location. this blog should do the same IMO. how about illnessLICK dot blogspot dot com

Nope, the blog needs to stay simply because it tells the truth and everything management doesn't want the American tax payer to know plus it the only venue the employees have to see just how they're about to get shafted or have been shafted. Between LANL old blog and LLNL current blog the employees are getting information they'll never hear while on the inside of that one square mile iron curtain.

The best one I heard was this. Employers cost for employee health care is not a tax write off for them now but under Obamacare the cost of your medical coverage is a corporate tax write off and soon will become taxable income for the employee. Why do you think you saw it on last years W2 for. It was a prep w/o the KY Jelly. Your taxes go UP, corporate taxes go DOWN. Thanks to the Socialist Democratic Party. 2008- 2016

ILL advise I'd say. The blog is a service to ALL, especially the employee excluding management who would love to see this blog go away. That was they could hide their dirty work from the public and the employees until it was to late. We have enough of that BS going on in the Whitehouse, congress and senate. The last thing we need is more of the same. Oh and on someone's concern about having a security clearance and the blog having something to do with a deer and a target on it chest, get a life. I had a TS for 40 years, been in a war zone and was on a nuclear weapons loading crew teams and I never once worried about someone knowing what I did or who I worked for. You keep your damn mouth shut, away from the drugs and alcohol, watch who you hang with and if you do get captured, give them a believable story. Name, rank and SN if you have to. To boot no one on this blog or LANL's old blog has ever given out any information on subjects of concern unless it was already known by the public.

Totally wrong. Health insurance has always been considered a business expense, just like labor wages. Those costs get subtracted from revenue before figuring the business's taxable income.

Good god. Health care costs are paid by DOE as part of the labor burden. Keeping costs down is important since, since the top line is fixed, a rise in health care costs means a cut in program funding and therefore a cut in the work force. The taxability of health care is irrelevant to the labs, although there were many proposals to make health care a taxable benefit over the past 10 years or more, with the idea that if people had to pay for the benefit they would shop for better deals. It is also a great way to pay for universal coverage.

Shopping as an individual for health care coverage is a bad idea since YOU as an individual will NEVER find it cheaper than one gets as a group rate. Not even under the socialist democrats Obamacare program, NEVER and if you do get some cut rate plan you better not own anything because you won't shortly after you get out of the hospital.

Could you PLEASE learn how to post things ONCE, instead of burdening the readership with 2 copies of your drivel? You've been doing this for as long as I can remember. Nobody that uses a computer can possibly be that stupid, so I conclude it's just self-importance.
