Nuclear weapon cuts damage arms control

There seems to concern that some of these huge nuclear weapons programs might be cancelled or scaled back:

It is going to cut, the question is by how much and which programs.

Misleading of a comment "...sea-launched cruise missiles (which the United States ultimately eliminated under the Obama administration)." since we all know that there are technical reasons why DOD and the Navy wanted the W80 removed from the TLAM, specifically the tendency of TLAMs to have navigational orientation issues when fired at sea - terrain contour matching just doesn't work that well over an ocean. So the missile has to come ashore at a specific location so it can figure out its location. If its off on this entry point and misidentifies its location, the rest of its flight gets rather interesting, especially if the terrain is mountainous - flying a nuclear tipped TLAM over the coast of an allied nation at tree hugging heights is rather rude.

News flash! Nuclear weapons cannot be un-invented, and humans have proven to be nothing more than slightly evolved monkeys with new toys.

The nuclear weapons industry is increasing acting like what economists call “rent-seeking”. That is, they demand money while offering nothing of value. Now we are faced with drawing down conventional capabilities to support the NW enterprise which is growing at 25% a year. That will ultimately make the world less safe, if our adversaries know we are weak and won’t use nuclear weapons to resolve a small conflict. I think a lot of the progressive Democrats are on to this scam. The ground based deterrent will be a big test of who has the resolve to stand up to the military industrial complex. And by the way, the spending will not end after the weapons are built and deployed. The labs will continue to want increases. Nobody gets laid off after a big program ends (i.e. SDI). We will be paying the bill forever for these programs.

Russia, China, North Korea, India, Pakistan, and Iran disagree with you. Probably the Brits too.

Once the world realizes that climate change is our biggest threat than perhaps we will realize it is time go do way with nuclear weapons, borders, money and private property.

Sure that's the ticket! Great idea! Wonder why no one else thought of that, it's so obvious!
