I like many others are very concerned about the future of the US. After Iowa tonight we might have to starting thinking about
possibilites. Should the labs be preparing to deal with a possible Trump presidency? It is not becoming a real possibility that
Trump could be president again and the there is talk about how the government will deal with this. This is driven by the fear that Trump will use the military for dictatorial take over.
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2024-election/trump-military-fears-rcna129159
"Now, bracing for Trump’s potential return, a loose-knit network of public interest groups and lawmakers is quietly devising plans to try to foil any efforts to expand presidential power, which could include pressuring the military to cater to his political needs"
Now presumably the labs will be part of this network. Or democracy is in jeopardy.
Hi
Also Europe is getting worried
https://www.cnn.com/2024/01/14/world/europe-leaders-trump-concerns-intl-cmd/index.html
"When Trump came along it woke us up to the fact that the US might not always act in European interest, especially if it goes against American interest,” a senior EU diplomat told CNN. “It sounds naive saying it out loud, but that was the assumption a lot people made.”

OK, I'll play. What are the suggestions for the response by the Labs?
Go on strike?
Refuse to validate the stockpile?
Aim NIF at Mar-a-Lago?
If the OP is employed at one of the labs and the lab does not "do something", will they resign in protest?
What on earth is wrong with Iowa. I thought for sure they would have enough sense not to pick the Don. Do they realize they are voting for man with like 100 felony charges, 20 trials, and pushed an attempted coup? Is this nation insane? I shudder to think that such people work at the labs, the military, and the government. I would guess this is due the mass amount of fake news and uneducated people being unable distinguish real from fake news. I have been saying for years, that we need to clean up the internet, social media, and have a real definition of who is or is not a legit news source. We need some real consequences for people who spread fake news.
CNN and NBC, that explains it. You had your chance and categorically failed. Please stop pointing fingers, and deal with it.
“Do they realize they are voting for man with like 100 felony charges, 20 trials, and pushed an attempted coup?
Sorry, the “man” was not charged with or convicted of a coup or “insurrection”. When you can’t beat or match the “man’s” accomplishments, this is what happens. It didn’t use to be this way. Scary times.
"Sorry, the “man” was not charged with or convicted of a coup or “insurrection”."
What are you talking about Colorado and New Hampshire just threw him off the ballot for....insurrection. Remember that thing called Jan 6th? I know you only listen to Q-anon and Fox news, but let the adults in room run things.

Not exactly a “Basket of Deplorables”. I thought California was a blue state?

Math is your friend. This is showing exactly the opposite of the claim.
I see this time and time again, some news article will say data shows some trend, but if you look at the data and take the next logical step, like the derivative, the integral, or ratio.
The same thing happens for crime statistics where some claim is made "this and this effect" when the data is actually showing the opposite. I have no issue with the average person not knowing being to to this but this is the LLNL blog so I would figure people would no some math.

Kind words for an opposing opinion. Nice truly.
Do you believe there is not a net CA exodus “(blue states to red states) propelled by cost of living (taxes, home prices, etc.) , crime, and political changes over the last 10 to 20 years in CA?

Look at the title of the article.
"surprising demographic has joined California’s exodus”"
Look at the data charts in the article...extrapolate the trends...think about it .
Now do you see why this it is the exact opposite of what the article is saying or implying?
Net exodus is not the point of the article.

Maybe they’ll be offered careers as part of the NIF progress report media team. Got to keep the billions of dollars flowing in.
