Would the TRUPACT-II (tightly packed 14 55-gallon drums) have contained the explosion? Of course, not a problem.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5936951073896589340.post-45247984385413545392015-02-18T15:35:24.374-08:002015-02-18T15:35:24.374-08:001:34 is clueless. Ever hear of the Hanford tanks? Rocky Flats? DP site? What makes this relatively minor incident significant is the deep, deep pockets and mindless, political drivel that accompanies it. As long as taxpayers and voters support such nonsense, it will continue. The sky isn't falling.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5936951073896589340.post-50235259942828284982015-02-18T13:34:35.527-08:002015-02-18T13:34:35.527-08:00February 18, 2015 at 8:41 AM

What you call a "leak" has variously been termed a "rupture" or an "explosion" by DOE. The drum was in "one alcove," but the radiation was spread throughout much of the facility according to DOE. This is no minor accident here, it is the largest screw-up in the history of the nuclear waste program.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5936951073896589340.post-72766119851606399252015-02-18T08:41:45.047-08:002015-02-18T08:41:45.047-08:00February 18, 2015 at 3:59 AM

Ask anyone that has ever been a landlord and see if they operate in such an irresponsible manner. The DOE landlord owns the facility and the LANL occupant trashed it, rendering it useless to all occupants. DOE is acting as a responsible landlord and returning the facility to a fully useable condition for all occupants.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5936951073896589340.post-9470026613522325332015-02-17T20:54:57.234-08:002015-02-17T20:54:57.234-08:00The fault lies completely with DOE.
