That was not..."October 26, 2011 8:53 PM"

That was not my implication at all, although I am not sure if it was what Jesus implied. My point is that even though many of us are doing very well compared to many other people in the nation we can still join a protest and we have less to lose. Almost everyone at the labs earned their living by working hard, earning the credentials needed, and
mastering unique expertize required to be in such places. We earn more than most as it should be. However we are also victims of the same issues that drive much of the angst at OWS, namely that greedy and corrupt corporations have negatively affected our lives, the ability for us to do our jobs and carry out our mission. I think we can all agree the beating the labs have taken and the contract change where only about getting more money to private corporate entities who donate money to politicians, nowhere was the will of the American people or the best interest of the nation ever considered. We are just a small example of what is going on everywhere in the United States. I am no socialists but capitalism only works under the rule of law.
If your are more left leaning than why should more money to a corrupt government help? Either way you should be upset by what is going on and join in on a protest.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5936951073896589340.post-79544991133623163492011-10-26T20:53:17.264-07:002011-10-26T20:53:17.264-07:00"To whomever much is given, of him will much ..."To whomever much is given, of him will much be required; and to whom much was entrusted, of him more will be asked." Luke 12:48

You are implying that what I have earned I was "given" by someone. Sorry, no. I worked hard and sacrificed to get a higher education, through years that many spent buying houses and having kids (neither of which they could afford), and therefore amassing debt they cannot pay. None of my subsequent wealth is under any legitimate claim by anyone else. Poor life choices, poor educational choices, and lack of personal restraint and sacrifice, do not make you a candidate for "income redistribution" from MY bank account. Keep in mind that (as even admitted by CBS News tonight, 10/26/11), that among high school graduates that did not go to college, unemployment is 9.1%. Among those with a bachelors degree, it is 4.5%. Get a clue. "Forced" by whom?? No one is "forcing" you to keep your money in stocks. No one smart does that these days, except the "too smart for themselves" day traders. Who do you think determines interest rates? Hint: the interest rates are near zero because the Fed is trying to get people (businesses) to borrow, but the large businesses are sitting on lots of money and aren't about to risk anything unless the government gives up stupid regulations and lowers taxes. The only people who want interest rates higher are fixed-income dividend investors (mostly seniors on Social Security) and banks who have to make their money making short-term loans to small businesses every day to float inventory costs.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5936951073896589340.post-35210733836455570922011-10-25T03:10:54.128-07:002011-10-25T03:10:54.128-07:00There is one at Los Almaos now and more people wil...There is one at Los Almaos now and more people will be joining.

There is?
