The quotes in here are employing a great deal of trickery and deception. They are still playing the "stockpile stewardship relevance" card.

Just as I suspected. No one gives a shit that LLNL missed the fusion goal.
Why would anyone care?
You need to understand that if NIF finally reached the ignition goals that were used to sell this boat-anchor, then the huge piles of cash for NIF might stop.
By not meeting the promised goals (and with no way to get there given the current set-up) LLNL has ensured that NIF will get billions more in funding.
That's how this screwed-up system works. In that light, NIF has been -- and will continue to be -- a HUGE success! The next batch of promises and lies from Ed and the rest of the NIF Team will soon be coming.
