A large budget increase for horribly screwing things up at WIPP?
Yeah, that will show those people running LANS not to mess with the DOE!
Add this to the recent string of LANL stories:
-WIPP closed due to LANL screwups
-LANL Deputy Director debarred from federal contracting due to ethical reasons
-TA 55 in work stoppage for over a year
-NMED fines for multiple sustained violations
-loss of 90% of NNSA fee
And Charlie just keeps on keepin on.

- Inoperable RANT, WCRRF, and Area G Nuclear facilities following the WIPP incident
- Sending Safey-Class drums to WIPP that have explosive contents.
Obviously, none of this matters to the President, Congress, DoE, or NNSA. Privatization of the Nuclear Weapon labs will continue to sink into the same level of concern as privatization of the Army mess halls.
