Tri-Valley Cares needs to be on this if they aren't already. We need to make sure that NNSA and LLNL does not make good on promises to pursue such stupid ideas as doing Plutonium experiments on NIF. The stupidity arises from the fact that a huge population is placed at risk in the short and long term. Why do this kind of experiment in a heavily populated area? Only a moron would push that kind of imbecile area. Do it somewhere else in the god forsaken hills of Los Alamos. Why should the communities in the Bay Area be subjected to such increased risk just because the lab's NIF has failed twice and is trying the Hail Mary pass of doing an SNM experiment just to justify their existence? Those Laser EoS techniques and the people analyzing the raw data are all just BAD anyways. You know what comes next after they do the experiment. They'll figure out that they need larger samples. Hey, pal let me clear this up, I hate scientists, all of them, I just cannot stand that people who think highly of scientists. I think all the stuff is crackpot. Dark energy is crap. Dark matter, ya sure. Don't get me started on this quantum computing junk. Why LANL ever had quantum computing work is beyond me, at least the got rid of most of it 15 years, since we all know no progress is being made in this area. Now we have some group trying "Fusion" this is just crackpot
The labs do bombs, that is all they do and all they should do. The science is already done. Unless it is mission critical we do not need it at the labs. Fusion is DOE work not NNSA work, quantum is Google work, not NNSA, Dark Matter work is a waste of taxpayer money and should be done at Universities. Epidemics, fuel cells, HIV, astrophysics, balloons, earthquakes, Chaos have no place in an NNSA lab, none. The whole idea that the NNSA labs are "science labs" is nonsense we are nuclear national security labs, got that. We are not even national security labs. Get with the mission or get out.
