What - the same Bill Richardson who opened a talk with lab employees by calling us "eggheads"? The same dude that lost his temper when asked about the accuracy of polygraphs, ending up shouting, "Just take the damn test!!!" - that Bill?

Now accused of partying like his boss, the OTHER Bill.

i would not be surprised at all. But let's wait until all the evidence is at hand before we convict and hang the guy. It'd be a much fairer treatment than he gave Lab employees.

I find this so hard to believe. I guy who threw Los Alamos under the bus? By the way everybody knew these stories about Bill even when he was governor.

This is sort of an aside, but a few years ago I was talking to the owner of a local (ABQ) cigar store about Richardson. Said he came in one time and they showed him around. He picked out some cigars and then demanded not to pay for them. Don’t know how they resolved that, but they thought he was a major hole.

Same Bill Richardson who had a huge poster of his face placed in Times Square paid for by the New Mexico dept of tourism. He is as worthless and corrupt as they come.

Even before that, when he was Third District US Representative (Northern NM including Los Alamos). He would speak in three communities in the same day and change his speech to make sure he told each community (for example, Los Alamos vs Espanola) what they wanted to hear, contradicting himself daily.

Now he's in the hospital with COVID-19, closely following Trump. Politics aside, I hope he gets well quickly.

??? I have found nothing about Bill Richardson being in the hospital with Covid. I think you are confusing him with Chris Christie who just checked into a hospital. I guess he looks a bit like Bill Richardson. True both are Governors but one is from New Mexico and the other is from NJ, one is Democrat and one Republican. Even though you got the wrong guy I hope you still want him to get well soon.

Yeah, lots of marginal awareness of the world here on this blog.

What is your point? You say that Bill Richardson is sick when he is not and now you blame the blog? I think self awareness is a bigger issue for you than marginal awareness. Just saying.

It would appear that the driving force for these charges being pressed now is that the statute of limitations of these crimes expires in 2021.

Why do we care about the crimes of Bill Richardson when we have the worlds greatest criminal in the white house. I doubt Bill Richardson personally killed 200k people, drove around a hospital like a 3rd dictator.

As a matter of curiosity, just how many American hostages of foreign dictators did Bill Richardson negotiate the release of?

Evan Hunziker, Eliadah McCord, Paul Salopek and a couple of others might argue with you. Stick to the facts.

Plutonium Shots on NIF.

Tri-Valley Cares needs to be on this if they aren't already. We need to make sure that NNSA and LLNL does not make good on promises to pursue such stupid ideas as doing Plutonium experiments on NIF. The stupidity arises from the fact that a huge population is placed at risk in the short and long term. Why do this kind of experiment in a heavily populated area? Only a moron would push that kind of imbecile area. Do it somewhere else in the god forsaken hills of Los Alamos. Why should the communities in the Bay Area be subjected to such increased risk just because the lab's NIF has failed twice and is trying the Hail Mary pass of doing an SNM experiment just to justify their existence? Those Laser EoS techniques and the people analyzing the raw data are all just BAD anyways. You know what comes next after they do the experiment. They'll figure out that they need larger samples. More risk for the local population. Stop this imbecilic pursuit. They wan...

Trump is to gut the labs.

The budget has a 20% decrease to DOE office of science, 20% cut to NIH. NASA also gets a cut. This will  have a huge negative effect on the lab. Crazy, juts crazy. He also wants to cut NEA and PBS, this may not seem like  a big deal but they get very little money and do great things.

Rumor corner

LLNS may have excluded the wrong people in last VSSOP? The exclusions were based on outdated job categories and related skills. ULM are now thinking that in the future, job categories and functional areas will have to be re-defined. The next VSSOP/ISP will be based on the new categories and functional areas. The questions I have are: 1) Why didnt they think of that before the transition. It seems like their style is “change things as you go”. Planning is out the window! 2) Who will give input on the new changes? The next RIF apparently is going to be more lucrative than the VSSOP. Depending on the length of employment, a RIFed person, not only gets their 1 week pay per year of service but also from 30 to 120 days notice, essentially 30 to 120 days pay. Please feel free to comment on the rumors or add new ones you actually heard.
