Nuclear fusion

 Two of the key barriers to producing power from nuclear fusion have been overcome, in what scientists say is a major advance towards producing near-limitless clean energy.

This suggests that it's possible to surpass a known threshold in fusion plasma physics that defines the maximum plasma density achievable in a tokamak reactor before instabilities occur (the Greenwald limit).
