"DOGE" impact

How will the DOGE impact current federal dollars that support the CA “Bullet Train” and BART, both of which are in a deluxe financial mess, and likely deemed by the DOGE to be grossly inefficiently managed?

The same question could be applied to everything DOGE will attempt to change. I have no idea if can work, many of these projects are approved by congress so I am not sure how much they can do of the time frame. BART is pretty bad for a number reasons but I think you could get it work much better with a few fairly cheap changes.

This is an interesting question -- also Trump has plans to go after so-called sanctuary cities and have mass deportations, which could have very significant effects on California. There are obvious issues with a lot of his policies if fully carried out.

Perhaps there is a playbook where he declares everything "fixed" without actually doing very much. Any evidence to the contrary can be blamed on media bias, or else he can blame any failures on so-called "deep state" enemies.

Also, it looks to me that the 25% tariffs announced against Canada and Mexico were mostly for domestic political effect rather than being a serious proposal. Trump is pro-business as you know, and that would hurt many US businesses.

This could be a sign that he is less than serious as well about his other proposals, such as mass deportations which would also harm businesses.

I would imagine, the government efficiency may also not happen, it is an excuse to lower taxes and have the government borrow more. Trump's various ambitious plans including the military should increase government spending.
