Is the DOE OHA legit or a DOE/NNSA contractor protective big brother?
if one reviews DOE OHA past “decisions”, very quickly you’ll see maintaining a DOE/NNSA employee security clearance is a ~50/50 mixed bag.Essentially, unless you were
a spy for a foreign country, you had an opportunity to correct your behavior. Unless, you repeated the same behavior without a path forward.
In contrast, if you had a DOE/NNSA case before the DOE OHA against a DOE or NNSA contractor, you are f_cked, from the get go.

Evidently in the United States there is a history of complaints against authority. I found this interesting wikipedia article which documents some of the public feeling and feedback about it. This concept seems to have been popularized by boomers as the article indicates --

The story below is over 10 years old. The DOE OHA initially denied Sandra Blacks case. What is not well detailed in this story, is it took 3 unwavering Senators crawling up the a_ _ of the DOE OHA, to prompt a review by a pressured DOE IG, to finally reverse the initial DOE OHA decision. Yah, this your DOE pledged whistleblower protection in reality.

Regarding whistleblowers, I wonder how many non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) or “gag orders” lost any legal
binding from the UC/LLNL days, when the Lab transitioned to LLNS management in 2007?
Security people within the US Government are on a self-perpetuating power trip. They are accountable to nobody. I’m so glad to finally be done with that ridiculous charade of faux “lie” detectors, worthiness levels, privacy invasion, lack of any due process, etc.
