Does anyone here have some relevant information or opinions about Pacific Fusion? I live in ABQ and they’ve been getting a lot of attention since they’re building a facility, near the airport. I looked at some of their white papers and they sound like a classic fraud scheme. For example, they mention a success, the NIF machine, as justification for their business, even though they are using a completely different fusion scheme. I’m concerned because I’ve had local people tell me they want to invest in the company. Hopefully the city doesn’t take a financial hit when they’re finally exposed, like Theranos was.

Any fraud is shared by NIF. NIF was an achievement, but the claims of "breakeven" are extremely over-blown. They overlooked the energy needed to charge the lasers. Including that changes the claims by a lot, more than an order of magnitude. Then there's the LIFE program... talk about a fraud!
It's run by a biologist so it must be legitimate. I studied biology once and cell fission and fusion is a well understood.

Classic lab scientist thinking. "Works" does not mean commercially viable. Pacific Fusion is trying to develop a profitable business, remember?

How would know? Did you read this on reddit that all "fusion is fraud?" Do you know anything about fusion, do you know anything about science?
Someone could always make a Perhapsafusion power plant…. On DOE $$
Both Pacific Fusion and Fuse are going after NNSA and DOD dollars by taking over the job of the Sandia Z machine, not by making green energy. So, no more a fraud than Z or NIF or the NNSA labs in general.
