(There is an) effort to reduce attrition at Bechtel managed DOE physics design labs.
At LANL management has implemented a new policy of external hiring only until the end of October. Prior to this was you needed to be in your position for a year before you could apply for another job. Got to get those employment numbers up at TA-55

The hiring policy LANL needs is to stop hiring incompetent people who are incapable of productive work and rational decision making. I don't know where HR and management finds these people, but for the last 6 to 8 years, they have been scraping the bottom of the barrel. It's not sufficient to hire a mass of warm bodies, whether external or internal. They need people who can actually do a job correctly and on schedule.
Bechtel is not a part of Triad.
Rumor is that it's due to the mass exodus of hires at 55 for ALDWP but we all get to play in the litter box for that transgression.
The labs now hire on the Virtue signaling of education and prestige of the degree/ university over the value of the ability to perform a task. 20 years ago they for a technical type position an interview panel would ask how you would perform a task or go about calculating something. Now it’s if you were an animal what kind of animal would you be. … and yes I am serious on that one (SNL-ABQ)

Huh? They are hiring people with degrees? This whole thing makes no sense.
Right now it is "interview 50 hire 50" at least at LANL.
