Well, it was 1-year effective October 1st. I think the new account numbering systems sucks and every one of my account numbers transferred over. I know several people who have zero hours since the first of the year due to the new accounting system. Yet another savings method for our new "owners". Go figure! What do you think of our status after one year?
Tri-Valley Cares needs to be on this if they aren't already. We need to make sure that NNSA and LLNL does not make good on promises to pursue such stupid ideas as doing Plutonium experiments on NIF. The stupidity arises from the fact that a huge population is placed at risk in the short and long term. Why do this kind of experiment in a heavily populated area? Only a moron would push that kind of imbecile area. Do it somewhere else in the god forsaken hills of Los Alamos. Why should the communities in the Bay Area be subjected to such increased risk just because the lab's NIF has failed twice and is trying the Hail Mary pass of doing an SNM experiment just to justify their existence? Those Laser EoS techniques and the people analyzing the raw data are all just BAD anyways. You know what comes next after they do the experiment. They'll figure out that they need larger samples. More risk for the local population. Stop this imbecilic pursuit. They wan...

No manager fights for his/her people anymore! It is everyone for himself!
Even in today's economy I just don't buy the excuse of needing to stay there anymore. No one is riding over the hill to rescue the employees or the programs. You're better off just taking the hit and moving on.
Ask any financial advsisor. Ask your doctor. Ask your spouse if you have one. Your friends. I doubt they'd recommend you stay.
Speaking to a group leader about the future she said "I won't let anything happen to my division."
These people have completely lost it!!!
And I don't mean "interesting" in a good way!

Can you expand on your comment that "the second year of LLC life is when things typically start to get really interesting."
What might we be in for?
During the second year you'll begin to see serious efforts to decrease salaries at LLNL. LLNS will begin creating brand new job categories with new salary limits that can't be waived. These limits mean that many employees won't be able to receive future raises.
