Our enemies are making new and better weapons while we are in unilateral disarmament mode.
Let's not start blaming politics again, enough threads on that. This was a national decision, done over many years through fair elections. The people wanted this, now they have it. No new nukes, tear down the labs, dismantle our deterrent.
God help us all.

Those two did not kill the weapons programs, it was the result of many people acting over a long time with support from the nation at large. We, the people, voted for those presidents, congress and indirectly the NNSA staff. Political parties were put in power by voters and ultimately the voters are to blame if politicians end up making poor choices.
Certainly the nation has made it clear that an assertive defense posture and nuclear weapons in specific are distasteful and should be eliminated. Beating swords in plowshares is the "hip" thing to do right now.
Only problem is when someone else decides to keep their swords. Then those without end up plowing fields for their new masters.
We don't have many swords anymore, the ones that are left are quite rusted, the forges sold off, smiths quietly killed. Not many plows either really.

Expertise is dieing off or leaving the NNSA labs in droves. NNSA can paper over this loss with ton of meaningless safety and security metrics, but what is happening today will come back to haunt this country some years down the road.
The Real Agenda and do a seacrh for the word "weapons". Page 34 "at a glance" is a good start and then under the title "towards a nuclear free world". Yes sir. between this clown and Billary we're going to disarm the world and all its citizen so we can have eternal peace. Did we go back to the 1960 hippy era orvernight. He'll lets just disarm first and then bend over and kiss your ass goodbye.
What should frighten you is not only do the policians know - they planned, implemented, and are cheering on these changes. And have popular backing to boot.
The ones in the dark are the public at large, due to being spoon-fed good-facts vs true-facts. And since no one seems truly interested in altering that state it will come as a huge ugly suprise someday when a crisis occurs.

"a world without nuclear weapons" - Seems like a reasonable and sane "long term" goal. I recall President Reagan wanting a similar goal and almost achieving it at the 1986 ReykjavÃk meeting with Gorbachev.
I guess at that time the people will come together towards a common non-socialist agenda to fight WWIII which will be far worse then WWI, WWII,Korea, Vietnam, Iraq or Afghanistan. The problem is, they'll be armed with nukes and we'll be unarmed by the current administration. How stupid is that? The people's priorities seem to lie not on what's good for the country or a concern about protecting their constitution rights. Instead they're focused on government aid and bureaucracy supported by taxes forming a total co dependent society. The current economic situation has given the media the diversion they need to assure this administration can enable their socialist agenda behind the scenes without anyone knowing they've been flanked. It would be nice if you'd all wake up before it's to late.
