Anonymously asked:

can anybody explain why Mcgraw rd off of southfront has been changed halfway down the road and changed to los positas rd. and why the 2 houses that used to be there which is 5165 mcgraw rd. and now is 4647 los positas the building directly across los positas has same address is it possible to have same address on opposite sides of the road?

I have no idea, but the old adage of "follow the money" is probably at play here.

Are you trying to blame LNS,NNSA,DOE or the ghost of Edward Teller for this? Otherwise, I can't figure out why this is of interest to this blog.

in regards to your comment on "address conflict?" trying to blame for what? could the residents of the house that used to be there possibly been put in a health risk situation? if so, shouldn't they have been notified?

Let's go through a little bit of logic here.

This blog is for issues dealing with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, LLNL, or as one of my friends noted - the East Avenue Hardware Store. Blog entries begin with news/rumors etc that have something to do with LLNL directly or indirectly (other labs, federal policy, federal budget and so on).

It should be noted that responses to posts can veer off to topics that don't seem to have anything to do with the lab or the original topic.

This topic STARTS OUT with a subject matter that for the life of me I can't figure out has a direct or indirect relationship with LLNL,LLNS, NNSA, DOE, LANL, Y12, Sandia etc. That is why I asked why the blame?

The point that a misleading address could lead to a life safety issue is quite plausible if an emergency responder can't find your address. In that sense I guess the link could be made to LLNL since the lab's fire department could be responding to a call. But other than that, what the original post has to do with LLNL is beyond me.

I am willing to be enlightened.

if you look on google maps and the address you lived on as a kid is no lounger there and the rd has changed name only in front of the two houses you lived in PLUS THE HOUSES ARE CORDONED OFF and you have health problems that cant be explained and you find out the property is on the worlds largest super fund I THINK THAT JUST ABOUT SAYS IT DONT YOU

Thanks for the enlightenment.

If the background of the story had been presented - houses cordoned off, name change, superfund site, then I could have put on the LRL,LLL,LLNL conspiracy hat. What does the city of Livermore have to say about the name change? Who has cordoned off the houses? Why are the two houses on the superfund list?

As for belonging on the blog, I guess Scooby can keep me off it if that's his desire, it's a free country and it's his blog.

I'm looking for a house that was 1.6 miles from llnl, can you help me? It was on Mcgraw rd. The part of the road that changed to las positas (4647 las positas to be exact) it used to be 5165 mcgraw rd. My name is David Mcgraw & i can't find my old house because it's been fenced off, the house torn down, and the road and address changed, and now its on the superfund site. MY landlord at the time, Graham Nissen, sold the property to llnl, see we were there first & your nice work ethics and contamination waste put us in danger & instead of fixing it. You bought the land and moved us on but now we're back i'm confident this message will get where it needs to go. Oil the squeaky hinge. Dave.dav@hotmail.com

Plutonium Shots on NIF.

Tri-Valley Cares needs to be on this if they aren't already. We need to make sure that NNSA and LLNL does not make good on promises to pursue such stupid ideas as doing Plutonium experiments on NIF. The stupidity arises from the fact that a huge population is placed at risk in the short and long term. Why do this kind of experiment in a heavily populated area? Only a moron would push that kind of imbecile area. Do it somewhere else in the god forsaken hills of Los Alamos. Why should the communities in the Bay Area be subjected to such increased risk just because the lab's NIF has failed twice and is trying the Hail Mary pass of doing an SNM experiment just to justify their existence? Those Laser EoS techniques and the people analyzing the raw data are all just BAD anyways. You know what comes next after they do the experiment. They'll figure out that they need larger samples. More risk for the local population. Stop this imbecilic pursuit. They wan...

Trump is to gut the labs.

The budget has a 20% decrease to DOE office of science, 20% cut to NIH. NASA also gets a cut. This will  have a huge negative effect on the lab. Crazy, juts crazy. He also wants to cut NEA and PBS, this may not seem like  a big deal but they get very little money and do great things.

LLNL un-diversity

Actual post from Dec. 15 from one of the streams. This is a real topic. As far as promoting women and minorities even if their qualifications are not as good as the white male scientists, I am all for it. We need diversity at the lab and if that is what it takes, so be it.  Quit your whining. Look around the lab, what do you see? White male geezers. How many African Americans do you see at the lab? Virtually none. LLNL is one of the MOST undiverse places you will see. Face it folks, LLNL is an institution of white male privilege and they don't want to give up their privileged positions. California, a state of majority Hispanics has the "crown jewel" LLNL nestled in the middle of it with very FEW Hispanics at all!
