Lab directors coming to ORNL
Monday's
a big day at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, with the planned visits by
Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz, Deputy Secretary Dan Poneman and national
lab directors from around the country.
Here is the list of national lab directors who are expected to attend the meeting:
• Tom Lograsso, interim director of Ames National Laboratory
• Eric Isaacs, director of Argonne National Laboratory
• Doon Gibbs, director of Brookhaven National Laboratory
• Young-Kee Kim, deputy director, Fermi National Acclerator Laboratory
• John Grossenbacher, director of Idaho National Laboratory
• Robert McKeown, deputy director of Jefferson Laboratory
• Charlie McMillan, director of Los Alamos National Laboratory
• Paul Alivisatos, director of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory
• Parney Albright, director of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory
• Anthony Cugini, director of National Energy Technology Laboratory
• Dan Arivzu, director of National Renewable Energy Laboratory
• Mike Kluse, director of Pacific Northwest National Laboratory
• Stewart Prager, director of Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory
• Chi-Chang Kao, director of SLAC National Accelerator Labroatory
• Paul Hommert, director of Sandia National Laboratories

It's good to have a full list of facilities that we can mull over when thinking about which ones to cut funding to.
Curious that for his first big meeting with the Labs he picked ORNL to host.
Would not call it "curious", but would say that it is quickly sending a very loud and very public message about the relative importance of various parts of DoE to the new Secretary.
Now that most of Tennessee is gentrified and most have a full set of teeth, ornl can be put forward as a modern post-prohibition lab.
They still have to do something about the rope belts before they can invite city slickers over fer a hoe down.
They better remove possum and squirrel off of the cafeteria menu. Mcmillan's refined California palatte can't handle such backwards nonsense.
Another waste of the taxpayers money with a bunch of "suits" slapping each other on the backs for "a job well done".
I'm surprised they also didn't invite all the former and future Lab Directors. Anastasio and Knapp never "turned down free food and wine".
Yeah, I'll never forget that Anastasio made a guest appearance at the Service Award Ceremony for those with 25-years or more of service. At the end of the ceremony, there he was, Anastasio, first in line for food. What a disgrace! The guy is nothing more than a Staten Island "con artist".
100 percent of LANS managers drank Kool Aid in 3rd grade.

No worries! Norm Pattiz will fly in fresh caviar and a case of the best champagne in the world for McMillan; for a job "well done".
Who in the hell is paying for this extravagant junket? IRS get's caught on a similar junket and these guys just thumb their noses to this, what a bunch of cocky bastards.
It's only a junket if the low level masses of mindless drone employees attend. Since the lab directors are invited to the hoe down it's not so bad. Plus it's oak ridge, guys. You can't have a junket to oak ridge. That is what you call punishment.
