LANL has a long history of electrical accidents

I worked at LANSCE for years and I can tell you that their electrical safety program is a joke. They show you videos and go over Ohm's law like we are all a bunch of undergrad students or techs. In my group we used to have regular meetings about, how to get around the lab's safety protocols so we could get work done. The biggest issue is the constantly modifying lock out/tag out procedures that confuse the hell out of everyone. This usually leads to people trying to do short cuts and as a result there is no clearly defined standard for doing this and other kinds of electrical work. Thus you get these incidents. What people outside of LANSCE don't know is that there are more smaller incidents that DO NOT get reported at all!
If what you say has any truth behind it, 3:07 pm, then I suggest you come forward and give evidence to those in authority outside of the LANS corporate "reality distortion field".
A person who knowingly endangers a hapless colleague should have his teeth kicked in.
I propose that facilities lowers the voltage of all wall outlets to 55 VAC, lab wide. This solution is in line with putting epoxy in all USB ports, and other genius ideas previously implemented at LANL.
What I say has nothing but truth behind it, 7:02pm. I mean I'm not 6 and I'm already posting as anonymous on a blog, why would I lie? The working conditions there are today as they were when I was there, disorganized and unsafe. That's what I saw and that's my take, and I don't give a rat's you know what if anyone believes me or not. Finally I would stick out my neck maybe and bring some light on this issue more publicly if I felt it would make a difference. It doesn't, not a bit.
What happened to all the hype on this incident? Another successful LANS skeleton put away in the DOE/NNSA closet. Wow, no accountability for nearly killing a LANL employee.
That is the legacy of LANL. I have had Managers tell me to push policy and procedure aside. And just get the job done. The electrical safety is a joke at LANL. I reported a electrical safety issue and it took them 4 yrs to fix it.
