New LANL purpose statement

Do whatever it takes to be part of the next bidding team, throw anyone and everything under the bus, every man and women for themselves, do not let a good crises go to waste! Do not waste the last few years doing something for LANL spend every spare moment of time, lobbying and positing yourself for the next possible pot of booty! Build your buddy network, enforce you castle, perfect your lies, and profit and glory could be yours, but act quickly before someone makes app on a smartphone about how to get rich on the next contract change at LANL and everyone will be in on it.

One of my LANL managers has been heard to spout that line about "Never let a good crisis go to waste." Apparently that pearl of wisdom came from a senior LANL manager during the most recent Director's Leadership Development Program (DLDP). Its telling that the LANS managers are pontificating about benefiting from a crisis, as opposed to learning how to lead/manage so as to avoid a crisis.

"Sorry, Rahm Emmanuel, many years ago."

And look at Chicago today.

There is no purpose left other than the money. Grab the cash and be happy.

The point of the original (top level) comment was not that the idea of "Never let a good crisis go to waste" was originated at or by LANL. The point was that the comment is used, in all seriousness, by top managers, and used as a teaching point for LANL leadership development.

I'm not even sure that Rahm said it first. Authorship isn't relevant.

Since LANS-LANL is in continuous crisis these days, there are many opportunities for managers to choose from. And they do, usually bad news for the serfs.

Ah, victimhood, Isn't it wonderful and satisfying? You never again have to actually do anything.
