Public records requests at Livermore

I came across this blog while doing research in advance of a FOIA request I intend to submit to LLNL (which for some reason has to be sent to NNSA). I am curious to know if anyone here has experience with the FOIA process at Livermore and would offer advice on how to maximize the likelihood of it being processed without necessitating suit in Federal court. (I found dockets from a few suits, which is actually how I ended up finding this place.) So, new topic suggestion: Public records requests at Livermore Thanks!

Well you have to submit your request to NNSA because LLNL is not a legal entity, it's a place operated by a non-public legal entity (LLNS LLC).

Records generated at LLNL fall into one of two categories; "Government-owned records" and "Contractor[LLNS]-owned records" and FOIA only applies to the former, which belong to NNSA.

See page 188 of section I of the contract for operating and managing LLNL, specifically clause "I-085 DEAR 970.5204-3 ACCESS TO AND OWNERSHIP OF RECORDS"

Julian. Your censorship is getting quite heavy handed. Unacceptable. Without free discouse, warts and all, this dying blog becomes uninteresting and dies faster. If I suggest the idiot trying to hurt the lab by FOIA requests should " take a permanent visit in Sheol", he should here it. To know he is not wanted, not valued by some. Your judgements on the matter don't.matter since when this personal.."Julianicide" becomes widely understood that each post simply passes the Julian seal of approval, the blog will become meaningless...one persons opinion. Please lrave my "go to hell" posts unaltered. They convey a sentiment the reader has thick enougb skin to absorb, even if some weaklings don't. ( a 10-year poster with little patience for weakness or bs)

Read blog rules: no name calling, vulgar language...
Your comment has a contradiction: you want me to allow your "go to hell" insults but not allow the dude whom you call idiot request FOIA info? I let your comment thru even if it has "idiot" which qualifies as name calling.

Still censoring.
