Why is this news? LANL has been losing waste for years, and the story has no legs.

The fact that LANL has been losing waste for years is precisely what makes this news.

This is how it is and how will be. Any questions?

Doesn't matter if it is McMillan or Wallace that is on top of LANL, the intrinsic problems just will not go away.

It is a culture issue and not with the scientists but instead with the northern new mexico locals.

The root issue is one of mission and understanding what matters to the bill payers. In no sane world would any government ever put a university-led company in charge of environmental waste stream management. This is the expected result from such poor decisions.

Bechtel people run waste management at LANL. UC is not involved.

Care to back that up with some facts? Such as the names of the top folks, all of them UC lifers and not Bechtel.

ADEM hasn't been run by Bechtel since the WIPP incident in 2014. ADESH has never been run by Bechtel. You do not work at LANL if you think Bechtel runs anything outside of PADCAP and ADPM.
