As a Non-Profit LLC, will Triad employee salaries be revealed?
"Nonprofits are required to submit their financial statements and other information -- including the salaries of directors, officers, and key employees...The IRS and nonprofits themselves are required to disclose the information on Form 990 to anyone who asks."

The end of LANL and LLNL? "After host Maria Bartiromo questioned whether the two plan to “close down entire agencies,” Ramaswamy said...

The "dual career ladder" model at LANL and LLNL went dark when the for-profit contractors took over. The "dual career ladder" model would be in better alignment with Bruce Held's mission oriented goals for DOE labs. Secret bonuses and secret salaries add the means to control and secure outcomes that benefit the contractor over the mission.
"secret salaries add the means to control and secure outcomes that benefit the contractor over the mission."
And despite Q-Clearance bribe criteria, contractor driven secret bonuses and secret salaries are apparently off the NNSA radar. No wonder the Labs are in such a spinning moral and mission compass mess.
Geez, get over yourself. Paranoia about who makes more than you is juvenile.

That has nothing to do with it. This about a for profit entity using secrecy to maximize the amount of money it can get out of LANL and LLNL. They need to pay enough money to the right people to look the other way. Bechtel has this down which was exposed in the Sally Denton book "The profiteers".
Make no mistake if Bechtel wins a extension at LLNL they will up the game to get everything and anything. Expect big changes.

The topic is about the ramifications of undisclosed (secret) salaries and bonuses, and not about unfair or undeserved salaries and bonuses or who makes more than someone else. Nice juvenile attempt at a discussion pivot but it didn't work.
You believe Bechtel pays bonuses out of government dollars, not from profit paid to them as fees described in the contract?
Here’s the Battelle 990: https://projects.propublica.org/nonprofits/organizations/314379427
You will get a few key personnel of interest at LANL (key personnel are specifically named in the M&O contract, and do not include the officemate who has a nicer car than you). Look at attachment J. It’s also unclear if this is their total compensation or if their NNSA-cost-allowable salaries are separately accounted for.

There are at least two books on Bechtel and their sleazy methods to extract money. It is called leveraged profit and they are masters
of this.
You can forget about DOE/NNSA doing anything about it. They have a deluxe and historical conflict of interest.
This thread is full of bitter people who think they were harmed by Bechtel. That history is so over. You need to find your own peace because the hope of someone awarding you something is just stupid and victim-posing.
What are you talking about? Either they inappropriately used government funds or not. You cannot pay bonuses with government dollars not paid as fee. The fee is stipulated directly in the contract.
If your answer is “they are sleazy”, go to a blog that tolerates such shallow analysis.

Catholic Priest child molesters decades ago shared your belief too. Such authority figures had a sense of immunity and "might makes right" they thought. Unfortunately, for decades they were correct, and absent was any sense of accountability. Until of course their collective behavior eventually caught up with them. Behaviors and means of doing boxiness eventually have inflection points, and only the naive and their appointed guardians would suggest otherwise. By the way, this topic is not exclusively about Bechtel. Please read all the comments. You are coming across as a little sensitive about Bechtel. Why?

This has been explained time and time again and outlined in at least two books on Bechtel about how they leverage profit. Of course it is all technically legal. You fail to understand how they use numerous loopholes to maximize their global profit, the fee is simply one part of the whole operation. They can charge travel, place people into holding positions, steer contracts to subsidiary companies and so on. Again all this is laid out in the books on Bechtel. By the way there is already very clear evidence now that Bechtel is gone that the sleazy stuff was going on.
Bechtel cannot “steer” contracts to subsidiary companies. That is a violation of the FAR. They can only charge travel of people who work in the interest of the lab and is approved by the DOE under the LANL process. As far as holding positions, that is such a wide birth that I don’t even know how to address that but to give you a fact that at any time under the previous contract the most Bechtel people, not AECom, not Babcox, or other corporate partners was 200 of the 8000+ lab employees. Being part of this Lab with specific knowledge I find these generalizations to be tiresome. The Only “sleezy” bechtel hired person I saw very ”clear” evidence was the former deputy lab director who frankly was a political hire that has been discussed on this blog.
Beth Sellers
DOE 14 years
AREVA 1 year
LANL 2.5 years
Bechtel 1 year and retired
What I found more “sleezy” was some of my long term LANL colleagues who quickly groveled at the feet of the new masters and are now doing the same under Triad instead of just carrying out the long term mission of our Laboratory.
Now, oddly enough there seems to be more than one of us on this thread who are tired of hearing about the wrongs of a company who has no continuing interest at our Lab. The topic was Triad being more open about salaries. I agree that they are not obliged to do so but it would be a profoundly positive policy to do so in my opinion.

So explain how it is worth your (or anyone's) time to be so concerned about it. Who cares? If you were somehow harmed by someone's "technically legal" action, well, that's what tort law is for. If not, quit crying and go live your life.

I don't mind when people smarter than me, who work harder than me, or have many more years of experience than me, make more money than I do. However, when I find out that some moron sycophant so-called manager who floated in with the latest carpetbaggers, can't even pronounce nuclear, much less understand anything about the real lab mission, and exhibits questionable ethics, is a few up on me; I get annoyed.
You are only annoyed because you know. Decades old solution...?
Sounds like you should have asked for a raise. Haters gonna hate.

Bitter is as bitter does. By the way have you considered some other possibilities? How about this you are paid less because you are poor performer that offers nothing and does nothing. Just a thought.
9:24 AM knows who the poor performers are. He knows how long the poster has worked at LANL, his division, and his ranking. He probably attended his ranking meeting as well.

9:24 AM is simply pointing out a possibility. Another possibility is that the poster has been unfairly treated. In my experience the worst performers alway claim they are unfairly treated and are in denial about this. However, there are certainly cases in which very good people have been unfairly treated and ranked so who knows.

And thus self identifies as a "moron sycophant so-called manager who floated in with the latest carpetbaggers, can't even pronounce nuclear, much less understand anything about the real lab mission, and exhibits questionable ethics," called out in the original post.
QED
Amidst all the bitter rhetoric, it is noteworthy that privatization provided opportunities for compensation that made productive employees very happy and well off.

bullllllllll-s**********t. Sorry this is total BS, total.

"real lab mission"
And what would that be? And who cares. DOE wants to keep going, New Mexico wants free money, a large amount of the lab workforce wants to keep the scam going. In case you have not noticed by why do we need nukes to protect the "United States", when, borders, nationalism, identity, parties and religion are going away. Nukes are just another method of oppression and like oppression it will be gone before you know it, just like the United States. Trump is the last gasp of horrible past that will be gone for forever. The bottom line is get as much money and position yourself for what is coming next. Anything can be justified so justify your own survival if you want to succeed.
There was certainly an increased emphasis in profit-driving performance and less on perceived "fairness." On good or bad, argue amongst yourselves,
Oh there was plenty of “posturing” for positions and title and money before the for profit model came in. Posture one was hard on the nose and posture two was hard on the knees. Anyone who denies that needs to pass the good stuff to the next person.
Posture three was "this is my laboratory and I will make sure it and it's mission and culture are preserved during the change." I knew a few of those at several different levels of management, and they were selfless and committed, and mostly succeeded. Many of them were Group Leaders who stuck it out and preserved their organizations' effectiveness and cohesiveness.
