LANL plutonium-238 exposure

Los Alamos National Laboratory is investigating the possible exposure of Laboratory employees to plutonium-238 after a breach in a glovebox glove at the Plutonium Facility on June 8.

A positive nasal swab pretty much obviates the word “possible” in the title of this article.

Pu238 is a tricky element....

To give you an idea of what kind of cowboys are at Los Alamos, their school system found that 90% of the parents what their kids to physically go back to school in Aug. That is nuts really really nuts and shows just how reckless LANL people are. They cannot be trusted with Covid and should not be trusted with Pu. The only sane thing to do is to shut it down. The problems are cultural. Another way to say it is that their problems are structurally institutionalized and systemic. In other words the problems at LANL are the same problems we have with racism. Many people say that are not racists but the evidence shows otherwise while LANL people say they are not cowboys. It is literally exactly the same. Unlike racism this is a problem that will not go away when we get rid of Trump. Very few people are even talking about it. Just as the national needs to be dismantled so does LANL.

Your anti-Los Alamos rant is predictable, and boring, ad repetitive.

How many Covid deaths in NM? 539. How many cases in Los Alamos County? 11. How many deaths in Los Alamos County? 0. If any municipality in the country could open schools safely, Los Alamos is it.

"Unlike racism this is a problem that will not go away when we get rid of Trump."

That statement alone makes one tend to dismiss anything else you say.

If racism is systemic it was there before and will be there after Trump. Racism can only exist if Trump is President? No racial strife happened while Obama was President?

"Just as the national needs to be dismantled so does LANL."

Is that supposed to read nation instead of national? If so, be prepared for a severe knee jerk reaction when you cross the tipping point. The folks who have been muttering under the breaths over the far left agenda might begin to roar.

That will never happen, the moment these people start to react, they will be arrested, cancelled, their guns taken away, and fired. People are keeping their mouth shut because they know what is going to happen. There is not going to be any reaction. Look on the bright side American might end up becoming civilized like Europe, sure the taxes are higher but they do not have the insane crime rates, racism, massive numbers of people without health care, pollution, and extremists. American is changing like it or not there is no going back now, too much momentum. What would this mean for the NNSA? Who knows.

Really? What has "changed"? Where is the momentum? Liberal looting and burning in liberal cities and the world keeps a turning. This is the same tired story every ten years. (LA, Detroit, Chicago, etc.)

Ridiculous. Who is going to "arrest" people? The defunded police? The community "violence interrupters"? And exactly who do you think is going to take guns away from people who legally own them? I invite you to try.

9:07 is obviously here to just here to stir the pot, state half-truths and make inflammatory comments.
90% of parents voted for a hybrid system, 10% wanted to school completely from home. Of that 90%, half will school on-site Mon/Tues, and the other half, Thurs/Fri. The balance of school days will be from home.

So lets keep things in perspective:
1) the governor and public school dept has agreed to a hybrid school system and at this point, is not requiring schools to go fully remote. This of course can all change within the next month. How this relates to safety at LANL, is only clear in your deluded imagination.
2) Since March, Los Alamos has only seen 11 cases.
3) Have you ever been on the local FB pages?? Los Alamos has become a mask police state, where everyone is watching and reporting mask wearing. From my own perspective, Los Alamos is compliant and probably one of the most compliant towns/cities in NM.

I won't even address the remainder of. your post. It wreaks of anti-LANL propaganda.

Wrong. 13 cases. Los Alamos County subscribes to the DJT School of Medicine method of pandemic control, "don't test and you won't have cases." The map of testing has this little island in Northern NM where very little testing happens. Los Alamos County.

Absolutely correct, this makes total sense. After all if one is sick with Covid symptoms one could not get a test in Los Alamos. Ok maybe one could as I know you can get one in the hospital if you wanted one. So that means people sick with Covid systems are not going to the hospital or there are only 13 people at Los Almaos that actually had symptoms.

The other possibility is that there are only 13 people sick in Los Almaos because of lack of testing. If we did more tests more people would get sick.

The other possibility is that is there is little testing because people are not asking for the tests since they are not feeling any systems.

The upside is that DJT is to blame for any an all problems at Los Alamos or anyplace else.

Total politicalization of Covid responses and mask wearing is just indicative of the ever-growing stupidity of US society. Thank you, US public schools!

Masks are tyranny!! Yeah, whatever. Just wear the damn mask already. It's to protect your neighbors, not you. Is that too much to ask?

7/10/2020 9:07 AM said “The only sane thing to do is to shut it down”. Well it is the only place left in the country that can handle plutonium. Unless you want to get rid of nuclear weapons and learn to speak Chinese, I suggest you craw back into your hole. All of the cowboys are gone. The logic of your response is laughable except I realize that there are still uneducated people around. Racism existed before Trump and it will be here after Trump

I don’t know who all these “experts” are with Los Alamos. You can get tested at DOH across from high school. If you show symptoms,
Your Doctor will also test. I had one done in April due to breathing difficulties. When I posted my original comment of 11 cases, there were 11 cases. We had 2 more back-to-back.

I did not understand the point of that post either. How are "experts" in Los Alamos keeping people from being tested?
