New Mexico Crisis Standards of Care (CSC)

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The New Mexico Department of Health announced the enactment of Crisis Standards of Care (CSC) for the state's health care system Monday.

Health officials said the pandemic has placed an enormous, ongoing and unsustainable strain on the state's health care system. They said the strain has been exacerbated by the volume of COVID-19 patients – almost all of whom are unvaccinated.

“Because of COVID, New Mexico hospitals and health care facilities have carried an unmanageable burden," NMDOH Acting Secretary David Scrase said. "Today, the state is offering clarity and support as providers seek to make difficult choices about how to allocate scarce - and precious - health care resources. The goals, as always, remain the same: to save as many New Mexican lives as possible, and to help sustain the health care providers who have sustained our communities throughout this entire pandemic."

LANL in the news again!!!

Dozens Of Top Nuclear Scientists With "Highest Security Clearances" Being Fired From Los Alamos Lab After Vax Mandate

https://www.zerohedge.com/covid-19/dozens-top-nuclear-scientists-highest-security-clearances-being-fired-los-alamos-lab-after
Importantly, it appears the bulk of those who face termination are not low-level staffers or new hires, but in many cases scientists and nuclear engineers who have worked at one of America's most sensitive and advanced defense facilities for decades.

The sad part is not that all those people where fired but that that post on Zero hedge got 700 comments while LLNL the real story gets 20 or most before Scooby shuts it down. I know many people would love to post but will not after Scooby imposed moderation. In 2018 you would get post after post with hundreds of comments now we get 3 or 5. Not to get on Scooby's case but I thing going back to the old format would be great. I think back in 2018 or so some anti LANL LLNL poster pushed Scooby to get rid of the free format and do the moderation.

Now back to the post. It sure does not put LANL in the best light. By the way how come ORNL, ANL, LBL or any other lab is not doing this mandate. Also how come Facebook, Amazon, Intel, McDonalds, Wallmart, IBM, Google and so on are doing the mandate? It seems odd that only the Federal government is doing this but every private company is saying hell no. By the way how come the CIA, FBI, NSA and so on did not do a similar procedure?

A number of posters pointed out the obvious that 5% of the lab is now effectively fired. I would also add that another 10% are also pretty upset with this. Did anyone think that this is now a huge security threat to the United States? You know have 15% of your workforce extremely angry with what is going on. Even the dumbest poster on Zero hedge from Alabama with no teeth a star hat, and no lerhen has figured out that LANL is now a hot spot for China, Russia and every other country who might want to take advantage of an opportunity. You now have 500 people who are on unpaid leave, 1000 who never wanted to go along with this. Their families , the retried people who hate this at 500 to 1000, their families and so on. LANL may have just created one of the biggest security threats to itself. Did anyone think this through? This could be a huge disaster in the making.

Oh no! My already pathetic healthcare options will just degrade incrementally more. Sort of don't care because New Mexico taught me that only I can reliably take care of of my family. Everything else has always just been chance.

Bullshit, there is no evidence for this whatsoever in New Mexico, and was extremely rare in the US for almost all of the pandemic. In fact hospitals had lower volumes during the pandemic.

This statement is particularly nonsensical with the current Delta strain. From the NYT times page the Covid surge in New Mexico was max in Nov 2020 with about 2500 people per day, now it is at 700 per day, but the cases are also less severe. How could it be that 1 year ago that New Mexico could handle a much larger numbers of people who where more sick, but now a year latter when we have 1/3 the number and less sick people the system is overwhelmed? Sorry this this is BS, now the question is this a delibertae lie for some political reasons or some other scam.

By the way Los Alamos is having a spike!. This huge spike is among unvaccinated children that show only mild symptoms and some breakthrough cases with again mild symptoms. There is some total and utter complete idiot named Skolnik who keep writing letters to the local paper Los Alamos paper saying we need panic but has no actual analysis. He was a social science health guy but has no and do I mean NO understanding of math or pandemics. Apparently you can get a masters in public policy without knowing the simplest concept of statistics. Even the least educated types have called him out for being an idiot and saying it is mostly kids with few symptoms. To be fair the math and statistics people at LANL get a kick out of Skolnik and love his letters for the laughs. I am not sure who he is writing for.

None of the stuff makes much sense.

Plutonium Shots on NIF.

Tri-Valley Cares needs to be on this if they aren't already. We need to make sure that NNSA and LLNL does not make good on promises to pursue such stupid ideas as doing Plutonium experiments on NIF. The stupidity arises from the fact that a huge population is placed at risk in the short and long term. Why do this kind of experiment in a heavily populated area? Only a moron would push that kind of imbecile area. Do it somewhere else in the god forsaken hills of Los Alamos. Why should the communities in the Bay Area be subjected to such increased risk just because the lab's NIF has failed twice and is trying the Hail Mary pass of doing an SNM experiment just to justify their existence? Those Laser EoS techniques and the people analyzing the raw data are all just BAD anyways. You know what comes next after they do the experiment. They'll figure out that they need larger samples. More risk for the local population. Stop this imbecilic pursuit. They wan...

Trump is to gut the labs.

The budget has a 20% decrease to DOE office of science, 20% cut to NIH. NASA also gets a cut. This will  have a huge negative effect on the lab. Crazy, juts crazy. He also wants to cut NEA and PBS, this may not seem like  a big deal but they get very little money and do great things.

LLNL un-diversity

Actual post from Dec. 15 from one of the streams. This is a real topic. As far as promoting women and minorities even if their qualifications are not as good as the white male scientists, I am all for it. We need diversity at the lab and if that is what it takes, so be it.  Quit your whining. Look around the lab, what do you see? White male geezers. How many African Americans do you see at the lab? Virtually none. LLNL is one of the MOST undiverse places you will see. Face it folks, LLNL is an institution of white male privilege and they don't want to give up their privileged positions. California, a state of majority Hispanics has the "crown jewel" LLNL nestled in the middle of it with very FEW Hispanics at all!
