If we cannot shut down twitter can the labs at least use science and tech to combat fake information? This could be more important than any possible nuclear war.

Scooby that is not what it means the term woke means. The using of "woke has been around for a long time. Do you which group started the term woke ? Do you know which group took over the term. Do you happen to know the Oxford dictionary term you are using is absolute total misinformation about the term woke and its original meaning ?
Going down the hole of "fighting misinformation" sounds good but you have in fact been an agent of misinformation. Ask yourself this if you are so wrong about the term "woke" what else are you wrong about?
The labs are in some sense are indeed an omnipotent force for national security. You can argue how effective they are but at 10-20 billion dollars the labs can actually do something for the security of the United States.
Woke is term that become popular in black community around 2010 and was used to denote being "awake" to the system of corruption and greed from the elite of all forms who try to use popular narratives to controll the poor and keep people in a state of denial about who the real enemy. It was more about class structure. Oddly enough it was Alex Jones who actually started this trend by talking about being "awake" and "wake up" around 2008 or earlier and the black community shortened this to "woke", much of Alex Jones conspiracy theory work in 2008 was about rich white people controlling the world and exploring minorities and poor people and this was well received by the black community. Yes "woke" is actually from Alex Jones the same guy who has to pay billions to to the Sandy Hook parents.
From 2014 on up it started being used by the white left to denote the enlightened elite who fight for social justice by saying certain groups like blacks are being suppressed by rich white "right wing" people and that capitalism is bad (this is the definition used in the Oxford dictionary). From 2016 it was term used by the right to denote left wing elite who are using a popular narrative to controll the poor and keep people in a state of denial.
A shorter version is that "woke" did not originate in racism but in class structure and started with Alex Jones "wake up" campaign in 2008. The back community termed this "woke" in 2010 the white left in 2014 made it about race, women, transgender and capitalism, blacks where pissed when white left wing people took over the term and distorted it. From 2016 to now it is insult used by the right against white leftest for being insane.
