I've been away from this blog for a few months. It looks like Scooby has finally given up on control of content relating to the national labs and is admitting anyone access with whatever cockamamie screwball claims about whatever. It is a free-for-all of conspiracy theories, outright trolling, and general craziness. It used to be a good resource for LLNL/LANL information. Now it is just another out of control internet garbage dump. I won't be back.
Tri-Valley Cares needs to be on this if they aren't already. We need to make sure that NNSA and LLNL does not make good on promises to pursue such stupid ideas as doing Plutonium experiments on NIF. The stupidity arises from the fact that a huge population is placed at risk in the short and long term. Why do this kind of experiment in a heavily populated area? Only a moron would push that kind of imbecile area. Do it somewhere else in the god forsaken hills of Los Alamos. Why should the communities in the Bay Area be subjected to such increased risk just because the lab's NIF has failed twice and is trying the Hail Mary pass of doing an SNM experiment just to justify their existence? Those Laser EoS techniques and the people analyzing the raw data are all just BAD anyways. You know what comes next after they do the experiment. They'll figure out that they need larger samples. More risk for the local population. Stop this imbecilic pursuit. They wan...

Now, if you were me, which do you prefer?
Please feel free to stay away from this blog for as long as you wish.
This poster says the same thing every two months and yet keeps coming back time and time again. I simply do not understand the persons point. I can go back and get these posts and they go back for years and years. They obviously are going keep diligently reading the blog and posting. I suspect that they may be somebody that does not want any kind of discussion of LANL or LLNL on any kind of blogs. Perhaps an ex-manager, ex lab cop, or even an ex lab director, hmmm it does make one think.
If only that was the case, but you will be back and say the same thing again like you always do.
Bye. If you prefer pre-sifted, sterilized, and corporate approved PR, stick with the for-profit LLNS Newsline. LLNS and its troll assistants don’t want this blog around either. Good response Scooby.
Did it ever occur to you that it might actually be many people tiring of this blog? I'm one, though I haven't left yet.
Now, if you were me, which do you prefer?"
If I were you, I'd prefer keeping my rationality and reasons for starting the blog, and eschewing the irrational expansion to include any post at all, no matter how irrelevant to your blog's original reason for being, which was admirable, but is now just self-serving nonsense.
Scooby, There will always be frustrated pro-LLNS trolls that do not want a platform to express lingering concerns over the privatization of LLNL. These trolls will continue to reach for any low hanging fruit in the attempt to discredit and hopefully end this blog. They know if this blog ends, fear of LLNS reprisals will keep open opinions or criticisms of LLNS in check. That is the real goal, it’s not frustration over peripheral blog topics. *For-profit LLNS has no material market competition, so intimidation of LLNS employees as a tool of compliance is effective. Your blog is outside of their control, a thorn in their side, and upsets their cash cow enterprise.
"I won't be back" - you have to stop making promises you have no intention of keeping
I have also gotten the sense that the pro privatization people are not happy about this blog. We have one data point in that things have gotten much better at LANL since TRIAD too over, hopefully the same will happen in LLNL. Did this blog help, well I think it is very likely it did on some level. In any case if some high DOE is reading, how about considering this. Can anyone name one thing that the for-profit model did that improved LANL or LLNL? It seems like they did a lot of bad things but I have yet to see someone point to something and see look this is better. The biggest thing the for profit model promised was more efficiency and money saved, yet none of that happened. Sure it may have improved the pockets of some high level managers or Bechtel types, but not much else.
