Based on the Z machine MAGLIF. Curious how Eric Schmidt is involved as he’s mainly been concerned with DoD projects.

Sounds like the fusion version of Theranos. - big names, big money, questionable science.
4:52 -- It isn't entirely fair to compare them to Theranos, which was fraudulent. There are no allegations of that nature against this company as far as I know.
9:55 - they are fraudulent. The center section on the z machine is heavily damaged after each shot. No way a machine with several times more energy could be fired at 1 Hz and you could extract energy from it. Also those capacitors and switches wouldn’t last more than a day at 1 Hz. There are also problems with energy delivery at those voltage levels. Of course the CTO knows all this, just like Elizabeth Holmes knew she was a fraud.
6:46 -- It isn't clear any of the things you've mentioned constitute fraud. They would no doubt try to overcome any problems with the technology on the way to commercialization, and might have ideas already on how to do so. There could hypothetically be a high payoff if it works, of course, which might offset any risk in the minds of the investors and the people involved in the company.
Something else is going on here. Not viable for a powerplant as other poster said. Probably this is all defense related. That’s probably what got Eric Schmidt on board.
