Trump admin is pulling supercomputers out of key weather and climate research center.
The move is part of the trump administration's
effort to disassemble the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, one of the world’s top weather and climate research centers, which the admin views as a source of climate change alarmism.

I think Governor Gavin Newsom
should do a little climate research.
He wants CA to go green by alienating very regulated CA refineries that are now exiting the state. $8+/gallon by year end will be no joke.
The fix? CA is shipping in gas from the Bahamas and other places around the world that don't give a hoot about emissions.
So lesson 1 for Governor Newsom’s desire to go green at all costs is, CA is a state, not a planet, please make decisions accordingly.
This is simply making all science political. It is already. Trump supports science to make weapons. AI as a weapon. The problem is that what AI and weapons' work needs to flourish is a broad wide scientific ecosystem. That has been damaged heavily in the last year. It was already quite ineffective. The administration has not fixed the real problems, it just carved pounds of flesh out of science. They also doubled down on a variety of stupid investments (too much supercomputing, not enough thinking and foundational math & physics).
Climate science is a problem for big, powerful, rich businesses. Any issue it finds is a threat to quarterly profits. That science is opposed. Vaccines are the focus of conspiracy theories. So that is attacked. Women's or LBGT health or sexuality research is attacked too. They don't like it. On and on it goes.
Climate change is real and a big deal. That said, climate work has been quite over the top in terms of alarmism. This has hurt its credibility. It has played into the hands of corporate interests who don't care one iota about the future of humanity.
