Tri-Valley Cares needs to be on this if they aren't already. We need to make sure that NNSA and LLNL does not make good on promises to pursue such stupid ideas as doing Plutonium experiments on NIF. The stupidity arises from the fact that a huge population is placed at risk in the short and long term. Why do this kind of experiment in a heavily populated area? Only a moron would push that kind of imbecile area. Do it somewhere else in the god forsaken hills of Los Alamos. Why should the communities in the Bay Area be subjected to such increased risk just because the lab's NIF has failed twice and is trying the Hail Mary pass of doing an SNM experiment just to justify their existence? It is very likely there will be massive INFLATION. Cost of gasoline, air travel, bridge tolls, transit tolls, and food have already gone way up. Anything that is transported, or oil based is going to cost more.That's nearly everything!
Those of us on fixed incomes, even the UoC Defined retirements, are going to have a hard time keeping up.(The Defined retirements lag inflation, only go up to 2%, then have a hole, and lag again once it is beyond 4%.
But IF you have a fixed mortgage, or car payment, it will be in dollars that are worth less than when you borrowed.
As a moderator, I cannot please everyone. I am being pulled from all directions. Someone wants a topic posted. Another person, such as yourself wants it dropped. The Founding Fathers were extremely cautious of strong executives, hence the many checks and balances of a divided system of government.
