swine flu vaccine?

Anonymous asked:

Does anyone know if the DOE is planning mandatory swine flu vaccinations? On the drudge report it states that all DOD military and important DOD civilians will be mandated (forced) to take it. NY is mandating it for 500,000 people. MA is working on forcing it for all citizens.

If you go past the media reporting, the story actually gets interesting. Do your own research.

The answer is No.

Remember that you are not a DOE employee, but work for a private company. DOD uniformed personnel and civilian employees directly work for DOD, and are subject to its rules on conditions of employment.

DOE's intrusive rules - polygraph, security clearances, safety, etc - are actually written into federal laws in order to force compliance by contractor employees.

Flu shots may be offered at the lab, but there is no way for DOE to force you to take one.

LLNL is not important any more. Therefore, no swine flu vaccine for you. Sorry.

Influenza vaccines are typically developed to cope with seasonal flu to minimize infection rates, yet influenza still kills about 500,000 people a year around the world. In June 2009, a strain of influenza derived from swine influenza was declared a pandemic (see 2009 flu pandemic). This new strain, Pandemic H1N1/09 virus, was antigenically different from the existing seasonal strains, requiring the production of a vaccine distinct from the 2009-2010 seasonal flu vaccine.

Developing, testing, and manufacturing sufficient quantities of a vaccine for H1N1/09 is a process which takes many months. Keiji Fukuda of the WHO said, "There’s much greater vaccine capacity than there was a few years ago, but there is not enough vaccine capacity to instantly make vaccines for the entire world’s population for influenza." [1] Nasal mist version of the vaccine started shipping in October 01, 2009.[2] Health care workers in the US states of Tennessee and Indiana are the first recipients of the H1N1 vaccine, while two-thirds of Americans plan to be vaccinated against the flu .[3].

I have also experienced of Swine Flue during the a+ training.

Thanks;

Why did you even post that cut and paste message from a foreign organization? It is false as well, half of Americans to not want this vaccine.

1) There is nothing in that post that is not factual. Prove to me it's false (and just because Glenn Beck said so doesn't make it true).

2) Most of vaccines are made in the UK or other locations overseas. Not in the US.

Plutonium Shots on NIF.

Tri-Valley Cares needs to be on this if they aren't already. We need to make sure that NNSA and LLNL does not make good on promises to pursue such stupid ideas as doing Plutonium experiments on NIF. The stupidity arises from the fact that a huge population is placed at risk in the short and long term. Why do this kind of experiment in a heavily populated area? Only a moron would push that kind of imbecile area. Do it somewhere else in the god forsaken hills of Los Alamos. Why should the communities in the Bay Area be subjected to such increased risk just because the lab's NIF has failed twice and is trying the Hail Mary pass of doing an SNM experiment just to justify their existence? Those Laser EoS techniques and the people analyzing the raw data are all just BAD anyways. You know what comes next after they do the experiment. They'll figure out that they need larger samples. More risk for the local population. Stop this imbecilic pursuit. They wan...

Trump is to gut the labs.

The budget has a 20% decrease to DOE office of science, 20% cut to NIH. NASA also gets a cut. This will  have a huge negative effect on the lab. Crazy, juts crazy. He also wants to cut NEA and PBS, this may not seem like  a big deal but they get very little money and do great things.

LLNL un-diversity

Actual post from Dec. 15 from one of the streams. This is a real topic. As far as promoting women and minorities even if their qualifications are not as good as the white male scientists, I am all for it. We need diversity at the lab and if that is what it takes, so be it.  Quit your whining. Look around the lab, what do you see? White male geezers. How many African Americans do you see at the lab? Virtually none. LLNL is one of the MOST undiverse places you will see. Face it folks, LLNL is an institution of white male privilege and they don't want to give up their privileged positions. California, a state of majority Hispanics has the "crown jewel" LLNL nestled in the middle of it with very FEW Hispanics at all!
