Layoff Lawsuit

Remember the lawsuit filed by 130 laid-off employees against LLNL? It's heating up a bit now...

Scooby's note: Before anyone believes employees are LLNL's most precious asset, watch the video and see the suffering caused by the privatization.

I watched the video, unfortunately, I didn't hear one word of substance that "LLNS" broke the law. I just heard a bunch of folks weeping saying "I was wronged". You folks better start building a case that defines the evidence, which law was broken, and where LLNS broke this law.

Again, review the infamous Los Alamos "Hecker RIF" that went to court where the plaintiffs claimed they were wronged. The jury who consisted of Blue Collar folks decided LANL did nothing wrong; they had no sympathy for folks that were making $100K salaries. The plaintiffs lost their asses.

It is illegal to dismiss someone base on age, over 40. There is the civil law act of 1964. If the lawyers can prove that someone with less seniority took over their jobs they have a case.

Actual this case is pretty simple....the act of lawing some one off who is over 40 and someone younger took over their job is against the civil law act of 1964. This not only violates the law, but was against the conditions of the law off.

You guys can also use "prima face" discrimination if you have numbers, I believe greater than about 70%. Basically, the numbers by themselves can be used to demonstrate discrimination. I hope you plaintiffs hit LLNS hard right in their fat wallet. I'd love to see you guys get your jobs back with compensation for pain and suffering.

That would be "choice" if LLNS has to use all the fee, bonus money, and hock their Porsches to pay these plaintiffs off. You can bet that Norm Pattiz will want out after he loses his battleship aka yacht "Vixen". What a shame!

That's an interesting point. If you see Pattiz quit soon, you will know his 500 "Chicago" lawyers are recommended he "cut the bait" since his major assets are "at risk" here on this trial. Also, I hope the plaintiffs are "charging" LLC Executive Committee with discriminationl. They have all the assets. I can see this is going to get real "ugly".

I can't hardly wait for the plaintiff's to convert Pattiz's ship "Vixen" into a "party boat".

Believe it or not anyone who works for the government does not contribute to the economy. I mean everyone who works for the government. We do not produce we consume therefore we are parasites. Hello basic economics. These people have been living in fantasy land since they were seventeen. The lab is full of these types of people it truly makes me sick. I do not feel sorry for them soon we will all be living on the edge of despair. We shall reap what we have sewn. Let the great culling begin. LOL

Plutonium Shots on NIF.

Tri-Valley Cares needs to be on this if they aren't already. We need to make sure that NNSA and LLNL does not make good on promises to pursue such stupid ideas as doing Plutonium experiments on NIF. The stupidity arises from the fact that a huge population is placed at risk in the short and long term. Why do this kind of experiment in a heavily populated area? Only a moron would push that kind of imbecile area. Do it somewhere else in the god forsaken hills of Los Alamos. Why should the communities in the Bay Area be subjected to such increased risk just because the lab's NIF has failed twice and is trying the Hail Mary pass of doing an SNM experiment just to justify their existence? Those Laser EoS techniques and the people analyzing the raw data are all just BAD anyways. You know what comes next after they do the experiment. They'll figure out that they need larger samples. More risk for the local population. Stop this imbecilic pursuit. They wan...

Trump is to gut the labs.

The budget has a 20% decrease to DOE office of science, 20% cut to NIH. NASA also gets a cut. This will  have a huge negative effect on the lab. Crazy, juts crazy. He also wants to cut NEA and PBS, this may not seem like  a big deal but they get very little money and do great things.

LLNL un-diversity

Actual post from Dec. 15 from one of the streams. This is a real topic. As far as promoting women and minorities even if their qualifications are not as good as the white male scientists, I am all for it. We need diversity at the lab and if that is what it takes, so be it.  Quit your whining. Look around the lab, what do you see? White male geezers. How many African Americans do you see at the lab? Virtually none. LLNL is one of the MOST undiverse places you will see. Face it folks, LLNL is an institution of white male privilege and they don't want to give up their privileged positions. California, a state of majority Hispanics has the "crown jewel" LLNL nestled in the middle of it with very FEW Hispanics at all!
