When will the LLNS Director announce the selection of the next Engineering AD?
Tri-Valley Cares needs to be on this if they aren't already. We need to make sure that NNSA and LLNL does not make good on promises to pursue such stupid ideas as doing Plutonium experiments on NIF. The stupidity arises from the fact that a huge population is placed at risk in the short and long term. Why do this kind of experiment in a heavily populated area? Only a moron would push that kind of imbecile area. Do it somewhere else in the god forsaken hills of Los Alamos. Why should the communities in the Bay Area be subjected to such increased risk just because the lab's NIF has failed twice and is trying the Hail Mary pass of doing an SNM experiment just to justify their existence? Those Laser EoS techniques and the people analyzing the raw data are all just BAD anyways. You know what comes next after they do the experiment. They'll figure out that they need larger samples. More risk for the local population. Stop this imbecilic pursuit. They wan...

Yes July 10, 2014 at 9:30 PM, that is surely what the topic question was requesting, the precise date and time of the engineering AD announcement. Try using a little imagination and respond to questions in context. In this case, why the current engineering AD has stayed on ~10 months past her announced retirement. I'm sure there are some thoughtful responses out there, yours not being one of them.
Can anyone give us at LANL a heads-up when Knapp returns? i'd like to retire before his next onslaught at LANL.

Leave now, or better, yesterday.
Whoever comes next will have a hard time re-establishing that, given the many years we've gone without.
Randy Pico is the first Native American to make engineering tech superintendent then senior superintendent at LLNL.
Except when those climbing such a ladder kick it away and pretend it wasn't a critical element of their success. As they try to assimilate, other minorities and women candidates for management or general career growth are thrown under the bus. It is about succeeding at all cost for some.
Can you quote an objective study that supports this?
I can quote that Germany and Japan are examples to the contrary, the two powerhouse manufacturing and scientific machines.
I think you can.
Just remember it was really the eastern front (Russia) that gave the allies the victory, another paragon of diversity.

You seem to forget that Russian women were actively engaged in the fighting, especially in the air. Decades ahead of the West in that aspect of diversity. Or, maybe you just didn't know that?
1. Since women are participating more at LLNL, that we don't need minorities like in Russia?
or
2. Realize that it was the Russian male foot soldier who took it for the team against the Axis. It was all about the causalities. And no, I don't want to hear about civilians... Russians civilians have always been quite expendable.
