LAFO gets a new sheriff in town

Colleagues:

Our friend and colleague Kim Davis Lebak is retiring after 28 years of public
service. Throughout her distinguished career, Kim served in various capacities
in DOE and NNSA offices across the country, including Livermore, Sandia, Pantex,
Savannah River, and DOE/NNSA Headquarters. Most recently, she has been Los
Alamos Field Office Manager. Kim has been an extraordinary public servant and
contributed greatly to NNSA's missions.

Steve Goodrum has been selected to serve as the new Los Alamos Field Office
Manager. He has served as NNSA's Assistant Deputy Administrator for Stockpile
Management since 2005. Steve's 40 years of experience in the nuclear security
enterprise includes assignments as the Amarillo Area Office Manager and as the
Sandia Site Office Deputy Manager.

Please join me in thanking Kim for her service, and welcoming Steve to his new
role.

Mcmillan recently announced his retirement and now Lebak.

Looks like a house cleaning to me. UC, Bechtel, AECOM, BWXT are next....

Klotz (NNSA) forcing retirements as a result of the nuclear air shipment. Not coincidental, Pattiz, McMillian, Lebak, ......next?

Interesting move that could indicate NNSA is going forward with their plans to manufacture pits at LANL. Steve is a good choice to focus on the production mission.

Is there a NNSA web link to Lebak's retirement announcement?

Would suspect that this move has more to do with Perry calling the shots than Klotz, who is not known for making tough decisions.

Gives you an idea how vengeful Rick Perry is. He just knelt in front McMillan with his hands clasped together as if McMillan was a messiah and praising him for how great and wonderful McMillan is. It appears the fall of the Holy Roman Empire (aka LANS) is finally beginning to take place.

This is an interesting decision because the DOE (and I mean DOE not NNSA because that has implication they are involved) Los Alamos area office has never been involved in the LANL weapon program other than having posters of stockpile stewardship in their offices. They only walk around the LANL nuclear facilities chewing gum (ala Pattiz) talking about their retirement dates.

Did Lebak keep LANS firmly in check per NNSA expectations, or enable LANS by promoting, defending, and protecting them?

Lebak is not the problem, the idiots on her staff are. Ever try to fire a Fed?
