Ploy?
Was it all a ploy by the communications consultants to moderate the critical blog? One story is that the LANS team wanted to hold down negative comments as the re-compete heats up and that they were successful by spamming the blog with drivel.
I'm doubting this for a number of reasons. Firstly, trolls have stylistic fingerprints in the wording they use in their posts. Evidence for them goes back before the decision to rebid. Secondly, this assumes a sophistication of mind that LANS has not been able to demonstrate, if they were that smart we'd not be looking at all the idiotic moves made like shipping Pu by air or using wrong packing materials in waste drums. Thirdly there is just the notion of a group acting where individuals have always been around without any coordination between them. Occam's razor cuts this idea down.
The blog is getting to low on posts. Maybe we could have a free post day once a week, or an hour a day. Kind of like the movie the purge. When people know that only have that one day, they will spill out all the venom at once and the blog can go back to its new format.
The posting rate is just fine, threads are getting good comments on several topics.
As per a venom hour for the trolls - no way. Rules violations, especially hateful postings are not welcome, ever. If you choose to contribute meaningfully the posts will be published, otherwise expect any attempts to spam this blog with junk to go straight to /dev/null.
