This information is regularly published by the lab. Why don't you try Google?

Met a woman from Sandia who told me she was in “STEM”. She had an economics Ph.D from a third-rate university.

At least double that. STEM is not just Ph.D.

Lots of people claim they are STEM, when at best they are the "T", so does the guy does building maintenance count as STEM? Seems like the labs have lots of people that are more low level T and not what people normally think of when they say STEM. The labs are very odd places. - 2/15/2020 4:01 PM

The "T" in STEM covers a lot of ground. All the technician categories and most of the technical staff member categories.

9:43 STEM is trendy these days. Look at Bill Nye the “science guy”. He cannot call himself a scientist because he isn’t.

He doesn't can himself a scientist. He calls himself a science guy, and he is a TV personality that educates children. I don't see you taking the initiative to develop a new nationally syndicated show watched by millions. Instead you are just complaining anonymously on this blog about how you are the true scientist. How sad.

12:49 oh contraire. Bill DOES routinely misrepresent himself as a scientist. Meanwhile the rest of us work at half his salary keeping America and the free world safe from destruction. You are correct about one thing, I have taken zero “initiative” to become a television personality. To be completely fair to Bill, his show is well done at the 2nd grade level.

Since you're so smart, you should know that it's "au contraire," not "oh contraire."
But you're not that smart. - 2/16/2020 5:48 PM

It is Greek to me.
To be fair the 8:51 poster who may not be all that smart but he certainly is more knowledge than you at least when it comes to Bill Nye.
I personally have no real problem with Bill Nye, or Neil Tyson in explaining certain simple scientific points or even demonstrations but when they try to explain how science is actually done, or more complex scientific work they are really doing more harm than good as they typically just mess it up and is beyond clear they have no real understating of what it really takes to do science or how it actually is done. Lots of people make fun of Carl Sagan but he actually had some real understanding of science and its broader implications. - 2/16/2020 11:21 PM

I (2/16/2020 5:48 PM) said nothing about Bill Nye.

If you went into this business thinking you would get rich, I have land in Florida to sell you for an amazing price.
Bill made a lot of money because he took a personal risk and started a program that is loved by millions in the free market. I took this job for its stability, hours and low stress and I get paid accordingly. - 2/18/2020 5:09 AM

Bill is no nor ever been about science, Bill is like LANS he is in for the money, so instead of telling people the truth he tells them what they want to hear. - 2/19/2020 7:42 AM

LANS was never intended to exist forever, it was to get it for 10 years get the money and run. A typical Bechtel approach and it worked out rather nicely for them. On to the next as they say. - 2/19/2020 8:33 PM
