What ever happened with the LANL Culture Survey?
Last Summer and Fall, Thom Mason really pushed the LANL culture survey into the organizations for all three deputy Lab Director's (Webster, Sarrao & Beierschmitt). All three surveys revealed serious morale problems. Has anyone heard of any positive changes resulting from any of these culture surveys? How convenient for the COVID crisis to hit. It seems like the COVID crisis has provided the cover to bury these surveys. Interestingly LANL has promoted several bad managers to higher positions during the "pause". Once promoted, this implies that nobody can held accountable for people mistreatment in their former (lower) positions?

Who would these be, just curious.
As for the survey, I am sure it is not very positive, I would not necessarily say that this is Triads fault as it takes some time to change attitudes. On the other hand many of the bad actors or managers from LANS are still around so this will definitely tilt the survey in a negative direction. Personally I think things are a bit better overall but there are still problems lingering which are directly related to managers from the LANS era. Most of the new managers seem decent to good and are certainly more professional.
Like ALL management surveys in the last 20 years, this one has two fatal flaws. First, it was voluntary and therefore has no statistical basis. Second, the management will cherry pick from the results to report exactly what they think they see, smiling monkeys.
Along with 8:47AM, I'm curious which "bad" managers have been promoted during the pause.
I haven't heard of any significant changes during the last few weeks, although I could be mistaken - we have been a little isolated.
Because the management of Triad sucks so bad, they would have to get rid of everyone above group leader based on the survey results.
Your opinion of Triad management is definitely in the small minority. Maybe leftover resentment from LANS?
The group leaders and many/most of the division leaders and ADs are from LANS. Nothing has changed.
