As far as promoting women and minorities even if their qualifications are not as good as the white male scientists, I am all for it. We need diversity at the lab and if that is what it takes, so be it. Quit your whining. Look around the lab, what do you see? White male geezers. How many African Americans do you see at the lab? Virtually none. LLNL is one of the MOST undiverse places you will see. Face it folks, LLNL is an institution of white male privilege and they don't want to give up their privileged positions. California, a state of majority Hispanics has the "crown jewel" LLNL nestled in the middle of it with very FEW Hispanics at all!

Who cares what Biden thinks about nuclear weapons the only thing that matters that Trump is gone. I understand that this is a LLNL/LANL blog so we are stake holders but the fact is getting rid of Trump is far more important than if we continue to get funding. Los Alamos county went blue which tells you smart people get it. We just overwhelmingly beat the biggest threats to our country since ww2 we should be celebrating as the American people put aside their differences and came together to defeat the enemy. If the NNSA money goes down and I have to the leave the lab I will happily do so now that Trump is gone.
I don't understand Biden just won and Trump says he will not concede. The secret service needs to escort him off the premises right now. He cannot just stay there he is no longer president.
I agree all Americans should be proud that we came together to defeat the threat of Fascism for the second time. We had VE now we can have VT day. We should make Nov 7 a national holiday. In many ways this was the little guy against the big political machine including Russia. This was a grassroots effort of individuals all across this nation realizing that enough is enough. I had family survive cancer and other serious illnesses but I have to say that today feels even better, it is like I had a 10 ton anchor pulled off me now and I can feel free again.

Your knowledge of civics is lacking. Biden is not President-elect until the Electoral college meets and votes on Dec. 14, 2020, and then Congress meets in joint session on Jan. 6, 2021 to count the electoral votes and declare the result. If he wins, Biden becomes President on Jan. 20, 2021. Until then Trump is President.
What!!! You mean this clown is still around until Jan? How much more damage can he do? If he had any decency he would simply resign since it is clear the people want him out.
I am getting bit more worried about the civil ware scenario. Sounds crazy huh? Well what if Trumps says, there is fraud I am not going anywhere. What does the military do then, some will be against this some will be for this. Things just keep getting crazier and crazier.

What happens then is nothing. Once the states certify their vote count, and the Electors cast their ballots and they are certified by Congress, on Jan. 20, Trump is no longer President. He doesn't have to "go anywhere." No decisions get made by him, no orders of his are obeyed, because he is no longer President. If you think the military, every one of whose members took an oath to support and defend the Constitution, not the President, will obey illegal and unconstitutional orders, you are a fool. The military will not be involved. If necessary Congress will issue an eviction notice that will be enforced against a private citizen trespassing in the White House by Capitol police.
Not to worry. Trump will resign in a couple of weeks, Pence will pardon him for any Federal crimes, and he will fade into the sunset, to try to defend himself against a multitude of pending state crimes.

But they said Trump did not even want to be president and would resign the first year that did not happen, they said that Trump would be removed by the 25 amendment in his 2nd year that did not happen. They said he would be removed for Russian collusion that did not happen, they said Trump would removed by impeachment in his third year that did not happen, they said he would resign before the election since he would lose 45 states and was 20% behind all the polls so the election would not even be close. Now you saying he will leave in a couple of weeks and be pardoned (Yes I listened to that same NPR story). Sorry but I am not buying it nor do I believe he even needs to be pardoned. If you have learned one lesson from this is that the news media is full of it. I listen to various news sources and most are just opinion, lack of understating of the law, lack of understating of math, out and out BS or propaganda. Oh, those so called state crimes are total crap and anyone with any understating of business or law knows this, and it takes about 2 minutes to figure out why (Hint: state...hint state), think about it. If any of that was true he would have been in jail way before he ever became president...(hint STATE). I remember the NYT and ABC, NBC and CBS news back in the 80s and 90s. The current news media has nothing to do with the old standards of journalism. These are the same guys who say Trump rallies spread Covid but riots and protests do not. That the US is the worst when it comes to Covid. (Hint compare to at per-Capita Europe). That even Africa is doing better than the US in terms of death the (The average life span in Africa is what 50?). That blacks are being killed by white people and the police, (false look at the FBI statics). The spike in Covid the past month is due to Trump rallies (Again look at Europe), why is Europe also spiking. There is no evidence for immunity after you catch it (than you could never have a vaccine if that was true and now we have a vaccine). This is on top of the bs stories about not paying taxes (he did by the millions), that there where good people on both sides (where they leave out the very next sentence), and on and on and on.
Now ask yourself this how is it that the media got everything so utterly wrong the past four years and now suddenly they are going to get it right? Just think about it. I am no Trump fan but mainstream media is no longer interested in truth.
My guess is Trump will just leaves office at the end of his term, no problems no issues and no pardons. Perhaps he will run again if he is healthy but he is not going to jail.
