14 years ago or....

Over 14+ years later, did honor and real scientific and engineering talent, fall by the wayside to dishonor, greed, and easy profit when LLNS took over LLNL management?

LLNS learned early on how to game the system. Rubber rulers, moveable goalposts, and a compliant/malleable Field Office are all that is required to keep the cash cow ~100% award fees coming in. Time for a non-profit fixed fee contractor is long overdue. That might also bring back a handsome tax exemption status for LLNL operations as was desired by the NNSA for Triad.

LLNS had its run, but value added metrics suggest the move to for-profit LLCs was a horrible, expensive, and colossal NNSA mistake. Expect the next contract manager of LLNL to be a non-profit.

Oh Yeah? You better not discount the Bohemian grove a few mile from you, and its influence on California politics (AKA Bechtel).

"The Profiteers: Bechtel and the Men Who Built the World" - Sally Denton

Book Review:

"In the highest tradition of investigative journalism, Sally Denton tells the compelling, troubling story of a vast enterprise that has blurred the lines between governmental and corporate power. This is how our nation really works, and this is a book that's impossible to ignore. So don't.” – Walter Kirn
