Was “Native American” Randy Pico continually promoted under LLNS management under the protection of “identity politics”, despite alleged repeated workplace misconduct toward subordinate employees?
Tri-Valley Cares needs to be on this if they aren't already. We need to make sure that NNSA and LLNL does not make good on promises to pursue such stupid ideas as doing Plutonium experiments on NIF. The stupidity arises from the fact that a huge population is placed at risk in the short and long term. Why do this kind of experiment in a heavily populated area? Only a moron would push that kind of imbecile area. Do it somewhere else in the god forsaken hills of Los Alamos. Why should the communities in the Bay Area be subjected to such increased risk just because the lab's NIF has failed twice and is trying the Hail Mary pass of doing an SNM experiment just to justify their existence? Those Laser EoS techniques and the people analyzing the raw data are all just BAD anyways. You know what comes next after they do the experiment. They'll figure out that they need larger samples. More risk for the local population. Stop this imbecilic pursuit. They wan...

Correct, he didn’t create out of thin air his ethnicity, his step father was a California Native American, he just declared it, and went on an accountability free and promotion enhanced escalator ride that his degreed peers were not entitled to.
Public Relations and Diversity/Equity/Inclusion ain't cheap.
Neither are gag orders in a LLNL settlement agreement $$$, but they do protect the “entitled” from having their misconduct exposed or corrected.
New Mexico’s finest???? The story he always told was that when he got the job at LLNL he hitchhiked to California. It takes a lot to leave poverty an do something better for yourself.
That being said the mess that he created in the engineering 300 500 & 900’s ranks in 2020 and 2021 kinda puts everything in a different perspective.
If he had decided to “hitchhike” to LANL in NM, they would have told him to complete a technical degree or acquire technical experience in the military, and then you can get in line for a possible employment opportunity. However at LLNL in CA, he was identified as “underutilized”, hired, and promoted independent of his qualifications, with an identity politics driven and irrevocable “ticket to the show”. No “term limits” at LLNL.
What “mess” did he create with the 300, 500, and 900 ranks, and what should he have done or not done, in your opinion?
Maybe the commenter raising the 300, 500, 900 criticism with no supporting detail, just does not like him, but can’t offer any meaningful reasons why. Not cool.
