Anthem to stop selling Obamacare plans in Wisconsin.

This was just marvelous news - after what LLNL did to retiree health plans. What are we going to have left to turn to when the last insurer bolts? Not just Wisconsin, carriers across the county are leaving the system.

What is this doing on a LLNL blog?

Wisconsin and LLNL both have the letter "N" in their names.

So there's that.

Not sure, but the best impartial information site on this complex issue is Kaiser Health News a nonprofit news service covering health policy issues at the federal and state level. It is an editorially independent program of the Kaiser Family Foundation...

Another politicized blog post. Please stop.

For one, we know LANL is considering terminating the current health insurance program instead giving employees an annual stipend to be used for ObamaCare. One manager in the LANL benefits office told a group of employees that we can count on it happening.

Maybe knowing that ObamaCare is indeed imploding might dissuade Lab Benefits from making such a catastrophic mistake.

The last post is a lie. A federal high tech employer will not drop employer health care. Troll fail.

In case you missed it LANS is NOT a federal employer.

No one said anything about dropping health care, 4:09/4:11 am (obviously the same guy). SWITCHING to ObamaCare.

If you think the only nuclear weapons pit production is not a federal facility, you are mistaken. Yes it is run by a contractor but it will never drop employer provided employee health care. Much too dangerous of a precedent that flies in the face of democrat preference for universal coverage.

Never happen during these culture wars.

The LANL physical plant is owned by the Feds but buildings don't make decisions, managers do.

LANL is managed by contractors in accordance with the operating contract. Nothing in that contract prevents changing the health care plan or the insurer. NOTHING. In fact, LANL management has changed health care insurers before. Note the operative word is change. No one, except you, used the word "drop".

Even if some Dems want the Gubm't to run health care it isn't going to happen. Look at the disaster the Gubm't-run VA health care has been. Besides, the Dems are completely out of power.

Seems like you are really just arguing against ObamaCare. Good for you.

Plutonium Shots on NIF.

Tri-Valley Cares needs to be on this if they aren't already. We need to make sure that NNSA and LLNL does not make good on promises to pursue such stupid ideas as doing Plutonium experiments on NIF. The stupidity arises from the fact that a huge population is placed at risk in the short and long term. Why do this kind of experiment in a heavily populated area? Only a moron would push that kind of imbecile area. Do it somewhere else in the god forsaken hills of Los Alamos. Why should the communities in the Bay Area be subjected to such increased risk just because the lab's NIF has failed twice and is trying the Hail Mary pass of doing an SNM experiment just to justify their existence? Those Laser EoS techniques and the people analyzing the raw data are all just BAD anyways. You know what comes next after they do the experiment. They'll figure out that they need larger samples. More risk for the local population. Stop this imbecilic pursuit. They wan...

Trump is to gut the labs.

The budget has a 20% decrease to DOE office of science, 20% cut to NIH. NASA also gets a cut. This will  have a huge negative effect on the lab. Crazy, juts crazy. He also wants to cut NEA and PBS, this may not seem like  a big deal but they get very little money and do great things.

LLNL un-diversity

Actual post from Dec. 15 from one of the streams. This is a real topic. As far as promoting women and minorities even if their qualifications are not as good as the white male scientists, I am all for it. We need diversity at the lab and if that is what it takes, so be it.  Quit your whining. Look around the lab, what do you see? White male geezers. How many African Americans do you see at the lab? Virtually none. LLNL is one of the MOST undiverse places you will see. Face it folks, LLNL is an institution of white male privilege and they don't want to give up their privileged positions. California, a state of majority Hispanics has the "crown jewel" LLNL nestled in the middle of it with very FEW Hispanics at all!
