Good, they were never able to compete in an alternative energy starved world anyway. They've proved that decades ago and they're still proving it today. NIF is not about alternative energy and by the time LIFE comes along the population of the world will be dead.
America needs a resource NOW not decades from now.
You people really should view a special on the history channel entitled Renewable Energy and see just how long we've had our heads up our butts. We are our own worse enemy and the clowns in Washington DC no matter what party are responsible for our oil dependency and the demise of this nation in many ways.
I'm a republican all the way and definitely not a socialist.
