This blog is a joke. Either nobody reads it, nobody cares to comment on it, or the moderator doesn't care/is lazy/whatever. There are few relevant posts and even fewer relevant comments. Sad. The blog HAD noble goals out the outset.......you should read the LANL blog instead....at least it's active, at least it's relevant. And the info often applies to LLNL/LLNS as well as LANL/LANS. Unless somebody breathes some life into this one, it ought to be terminated. Sorry for the harsh opinion, but it's just a waste of time to come here.

I'm a guest blogger here too. Thank you for the kind words about the LANL blog. I have to take some of the blame here. I've been really busy and not keeping up with LLNL news. I'll try to contribute a little more often.
one of the problems that this blog has is the racist, bigoted, hate filled remarks that I see posted referencing the president and liberals in general. it's one thing to express an opinion but something else when race and the threat of violence get mixed in. nobody takes this blog seriously anymore as a result(I know I don't). I only come here periodically to read the vitriolic babble that winds it way through the threads as a reminder that there are still a lot of people in our society who believe race and political persuasion are a metric of ones patriotism. Other than that, this blog serves no purpose.
I am going to hazard a guess that Scooby has a full time job and that he reviews and publishes the posts in his spare time.
It's his blog, if the content doesn't satisfy your needs, don't punch in the URL.
I will also put forth my guess as to why Frank's blog makes for more interesting reading:
1. Deep down inside we have this fascination with wrecks and disasters. LANL would seem to be a demolition derby.
2. The milder editing by Frank allows a more risque dialog and while watching wrecks, we have a penchant for swearing.
3. The spleen venting of the LANL folks with hatred dripping from keyboard makes for more interesting reading.
I'm from Livermore and I admit that I spend more time on Frank's blog than Scooby's. Since I don't see advertising bars on the pages I don't think either of them are interested in click counts.
Would I like to see more content on this blog - yes and no.
Given that the blog content of both sites generally is about negative things at the sites, hopefully the lesser content of this blog may be in indication that things aren't as bad at LLNL as compared to LANL.
Both of them are free and you get what you paid for.
Just because I don't comment or contribute doesn't mean I don't read the blog. I read the blog a lot. If you don't like it just don't visit it.

I check this blog out a couple times a week. I agree that the vitriol spouted by a vocal minority has really turned me off. I disagree that scooby is over censoring _his/her_ blog. If he was I would think that the bitter posts that provide nothing but acrimony would be the first to go.
We provide a lot of the content. It's up to us to get it to scooby. It's also up to us to complain if there are posters that are too inflamatory.
Let's at least try to be civil.I tell you, if some of you talked to me face to face they way you commented on my posts we'd be more than just talking.

You are correct but facts are facts and one must call it as they see it. If you don't like what you read and are not willing to face facts then please go away and say away.

Yes that is why it could never represent the people at llnl. Most would be offended by its content. What is needed for LLNL is a blog that everyone can feel confortable participating in. The lanl blog can draw in more people because, while it may be anti-management, it brings in noteworthy news and leaves out the emotional nonesense.
This blog would generate more interest if there where specifics about the shady things happening at LLNL. Just filling it with anger and name calling isn't enough to keep people interested.
Almost everyone at LLNL is unhappy with LLNS. We all know what's happening in our own areas, but need to know what is happening in the other sections of the lab to help put the pieces of the puzzle together.
We provide a lot of the content. It's up to us to get it to scooby. It's also up to us to complain if there are posters that are too inflamatory.
I think it is the responsibility of the moderator to filter out those comments that are inflammatory. that is he problem with this blog.The moderator clearly has an agenda (which is their business since it is their blog) but as a result this blog has no relevance with regard to LLNL and the goings on there. You will note there are more posts on "this blog is a joke" than any other topic. That is because there is nothing left for this blog but to talk about... this blog. This blog is finished.

I did one better. I started my own blog which will not tolerate hate or bigotry. I suggest all of you do the same. It isn't rocket science. i had it set up in less than an hour. I have had only a few responses but I have had over 100 visitors.

No kiddin'? What's with the "Please post political views here" link on the side bar? I went there and it didn't seem to be very politically neutral.Either you are not being honest or somebody else is gettin' in there and posting links without your knowledge.Try a different story.
