Bad News Letter on Friday?
I have been hearing that NNSA is about to issue the labs and plants official letters to start initiating furloughs and layoffs!!
Anyone else hear or seen this yet?

But, but, but, but.... Charlie McMillan just issued a memo saying no furloughs or layoffs were planned at LANL.
There will be no announcements of lab layoffs.... until right before the layoffs begin.
Be very careful putting a sense of job security into the words coming from the NNSA labs' management.

Only if the lawyers can claim the WARN Act doesn't apply. One big loophole is that the Act does not apply if fewer than 500 employees are laid off and that number is less than 1/3 of the total workforce at a site. This exists because the Act was intended to apply only to "plant closings and mass layoffs."
