There's nothing in HQ worth knowing. Must have been Nigerian hackers.
Hey maybe the guys at DOE who read this blog clicked on the phishing link in one of the posts offering financial services. Readership from DOE and NNSA is at a fairly decent level.
It sounds like there is a cultural problem at DOE.
Those "buttheads & cowboys" over at DOE HQ need to be taught a lesson. Send in Pete Nanos!
Hmmm, all the NNSA labs got beat up by DOE HQ for not securing their laptops with whole disk encryption so all lab laptops had it installed years ago regardless of the classification of the data on those laptops. It was mandatory for everyone.
Meanwhile, back at DOE HQ where the bureaucrats love screaming at the labbies, they didn't bother to follow their own advice.
Figures, doesn't it?
"they didn't bother to follow their own advice.

It wasn't "advice" it was "policy" and they should be disiplined "up to and including termination" just as they mandate for the labbies who disregard policy.
What happens when the arrogant bureaucrats at DOE HQ disobey security policies? Nothing.
