Not classified and hasn't produced a Thing

This folks is a joke. It appeared in the Modesto Bee brought over to me by a neighbor. He was laughing and after I read the article so was I. NIF needs to stay the hell out of the newspapers until the actually do something useful for the nation instead of trying to get funds by lying to the press. Things like this are going to bite them in the ass cause people that know are going to tell the truth.

You don't get it do you. - " This topic is boring. Lets talk about something coming down the pipeline, like laser EoS. Now THAT is unmutable" -- no body GAF about laser EoS or if NIF ever works. They all know it's just a toy for the scientist to keep their jobs at the tax payers expense. Geee. Someday may the lab will get a project that will actually make a difference in society immediately.

I hate to break it to you....laser EoS and ignition topics get posting and readership levels that are off the charts. Even ssvsp and furlough threads come behind NIF related threads. That's because EoS and strength are topics relevant to all 3 NNSA labs and NNSA and congressional staffers and advisors read them. Ignition is of great interest to those working on magnetic fusion energy. Also the media get hints and leads from here. Scooby needs to somehow monetize the blog. And lab management reads these threads too.

You keep saying that nobody cares, but NNSA and the 3 labs care. The media writes about it so they know there is an audience for it. What is your point? All I have to do is find a few people who care to nullify your point. Are you just trying to stop embarrassing lab news from leaking out? If so you're actually encouraging it. And it's more than being about white collar welfare. Read d2 EoS to see what I mean. The lab had never recovered from that fiasco. The question on all of our minds is how will it all end? An even bigger lie? Avoidance? Coming clear and asking for a second chance? Laser EoS needs a resolution.

That reminds me of "the Truman Show" starring Jim Carrey where people are wearing the button that asks "how will it end?" It's pure human nature to wait until there is a conclusion. And that anticipation just keeps building up. NIF, ignition, EoS, the lab, the budget, the bay bridge construction problems... LLNL has everything they have been asking for.... Our undivided attention...

Another example of not classified and hasn't produced a thing:

http://www.sandia.gov/LabNews/100730.html

The Sandia article says: " Timothy Shepodd (8223) liked the moniker and agreed to call it the “chili cookoff.” But there was no chili involved, and the only “cooking” had to do with the kind of chemicals not usually found on Sandia grounds. "

A google search on that Tim Shepodd guy at Sandia shows quite a lot of silly and nonsense things on the internet

Haha! That's too funny!

Plutonium Shots on NIF.

Tri-Valley Cares needs to be on this if they aren't already. We need to make sure that NNSA and LLNL does not make good on promises to pursue such stupid ideas as doing Plutonium experiments on NIF. The stupidity arises from the fact that a huge population is placed at risk in the short and long term. Why do this kind of experiment in a heavily populated area? Only a moron would push that kind of imbecile area. Do it somewhere else in the god forsaken hills of Los Alamos. Why should the communities in the Bay Area be subjected to such increased risk just because the lab's NIF has failed twice and is trying the Hail Mary pass of doing an SNM experiment just to justify their existence? Those Laser EoS techniques and the people analyzing the raw data are all just BAD anyways. You know what comes next after they do the experiment. They'll figure out that they need larger samples. More risk for the local population. Stop this imbecilic pursuit. They wan...

Trump is to gut the labs.

The budget has a 20% decrease to DOE office of science, 20% cut to NIH. NASA also gets a cut. This will  have a huge negative effect on the lab. Crazy, juts crazy. He also wants to cut NEA and PBS, this may not seem like  a big deal but they get very little money and do great things.

LLNL un-diversity

Actual post from Dec. 15 from one of the streams. This is a real topic. As far as promoting women and minorities even if their qualifications are not as good as the white male scientists, I am all for it. We need diversity at the lab and if that is what it takes, so be it.  Quit your whining. Look around the lab, what do you see? White male geezers. How many African Americans do you see at the lab? Virtually none. LLNL is one of the MOST undiverse places you will see. Face it folks, LLNL is an institution of white male privilege and they don't want to give up their privileged positions. California, a state of majority Hispanics has the "crown jewel" LLNL nestled in the middle of it with very FEW Hispanics at all!
