Trump team focuses on finding DOE deputy secretary

A lobbyist for a Texas financial services company and a nuclear regulator are in the running to be the Department of Energy's second in command in the Trump administration, according to a source close to the transition.
Among a dozen or so people in the running for deputy secretary, the source said, are Dan Brouillette, senior vice president at the San Antonio-based United Services Automobile Association (USAA), and Kristine Svinicki, a Republican member of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
Trump's pick for DOE chief, former Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R), is scheduled for a confirmation hearing Thursday before the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.
Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall is currently DOE deputy secretary. She replaced Daniel Poneman, who now oversees a uranium enrichment company, Centrus Energy Corp.
Brouillette has served as vice president of USAA for more than a decade, and before that was vice president of Ford Motor Co. from 2004 to 2006, according to his online biography. From 2003 to 2004, he was a staff director for the House Energy and Commerce Committee and was DOE assistant secretary from 2001 to 2003.
Svinicki, a nuclear engineer and policy adviser, has served at the NRC for about nine years. Svinicki's second term at NRC ends June 30.
Svinicki worked for more than a decade as a Senate Republican staffer and as a nuclear engineer for DOE, and in recent years has drawn fire from former Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) for her work on Nevada's Yucca Mountain nuclear waste repository and for opposing former NRC Chairman Gregory Jaczko's call for fast-tracked safety upgrades to U.S. reactors following the 2011 disaster in Japan. Jaczko formerly worked for Reid.

Mattis has rabbis and the rest are crazy I mean crazzzzy. Michael Moore is right we have elected the last president of the United States. All empires end and we are no exception. If you made lots of money in the bast 20 years you have some hope to escape if not, well it will be one hell of ride to see the end of the US.
4:57 ...
He has rabbis? Rabbis? Tempting but I'll leave it at that.
Speaking of crazy, Michael Moore is right about nothing.
And Michael Moore is crazy. I have no idea why the media gives him a podium, unless it's because they are as crazy as he is.
I didn't even know Mattis was Jewish. (Sorry, I couldn't resist.)
"Speaking of crazy, Michael Moore is right about nothing." ( Post 6:36 AM)
Well, he WAS right predicting Donald Trump would be elected president when all the rest of the liberal crowd living under a bubble thought Hillary had a 98.9% chance of winning right up to election day. You have to give Michael Moore credit for that. His movie "Trumpland" even accurately described exactly why Trump would win (i.e., strong support from beaten down blue collar workers in the Rust Belt states).
Speaking of crazy, 4:57 AM needs anti-psychotic meds fast. Trump is the last President America will elect? The end of the U.S. is coming? And how does this nut know this?
He listens to Michael Moore, a proven crackpot.
Sheesh, this is exceptionally crazy even on the liberal nut-case scale.
Yeah, but Mattis has Rabbis - how can Trump overcome that?
He'll line up all his Mohels.
Trump will be the last president. Here are several scenarios:
1 One morning Trump will send out a tweet saying that he is God wants to launch a nuclear strike on the Moon and Ireland. In an attempt to remove him he orders martial law leading to Emperor Trump. After he dies, Ivanka gets the thrown and so on.
2 He plays hard ball with China and Russia and says in buisness " you never back down". However in business your competitors don't gave nuclear weapons so he causes WWIII.
3 He slowing takes more and more power and gets increasingly brutal, China and Europe see that they must act before it gets to bad and there is coup after which the United States is put under protective rule of China.
4 Total economic collapse leading to the China needing to take over to ensure they get there money back. This is a variant on 3.
Which one will it be?

Your #1 can't happen. There's this little thing called the Constitution which divides power into the President, Congress, and the Supreme Court. No President can declare himself to be Emperor. You know that, but you chose to write this wacky nonsense anyway. Why? It wasn't funny. It seems just plain CRAZY.
#2, Trump knows that starting a Nuclear war will get himself killed. He has too much to look foward to, so that won't happen. He's positively ecstatic seeing brain-dead liberals frothing at the mouth and is looking forward to 4 or maybe even 8 years of pure joy.
#3 You obviously haven't been paying any attention. Most of Europe is moving in Trump's populist direction. The EU has much, much bigger problems to worry about than Trump, like figuring out how to keep themselves from imploding.
#4 We owe China about $1 Trillion. That's a drop in the bucket compared with our $20 Trillion debt. It's also a small amount for China. Scratch this one too, it's flat crazy.
Here's a tip for you, no rational person believes anything you liberal nuts say any longer. Hang it up, you've abused your keyboard enough already.
What a worthless conversation this entry started.
Anyone want to try and be more of a cartoon caricature of your political beliefs? Come on, you can do it.

Let us see what is more crazy. (1) A person who has never held office is becoming the president of the United States through the interference of a hostile foreign power. This person even became president without winning the popular vote (2) This same person will be the last US president. So which is more more crazy?
NNSA to DOD 2019 count on it!
See, there you go again with your crazy liberal nut-case stuff, 1145 PM. The IC claims that Russia had a role in hacking the Dimocratic National Committee's e-mails but this has been denied by the guy who would know, Julian Assange of Wikileaks. In any case, the thing that may have had some influence on voters wasn't the Russians, it was the despicable content of those Demmy e-mails.
Why is this so hard for you to understand?
Besides, none of what you said adds up in any way to Trump being the last President ever.
Liberals are just nut cases, so there is no way for them to understand things that the rest of us take as self-evident. Fortunately most of them will wind up in the re-education camps in about 3 years.
January 20, 2017 at 9:20 AM reminds us that Trumpeters can be crazy too.
Say what?...
- Rick Perry was casually blowing bubbles with his gum at the inauguration (Mashable, Jan 20th)
This is going to be the next head of the Dept. of Energy? Really?
The key question for Rick Perry is: Can he chew gum AND walk at the same time?
I know, it's a high hurdle to clear but if he can then he'll be good enough to meet the criteria as the next head of the DOE. From his appearances on "Dancing with the Stars" we know he's a decent dancer so that important DOE check-off item has already met approval.

Yes, time to check in with reality, little girl.
Perry will be the last Energy Secretary. Like ever. Michael Moore prophesied it.
