These people need to be purged. I am very disturbed to know that there are people at the labs that are not going along with CRT. We are eating a new age.

I get the feeling that CRT might be something created by white supremesits to inflame racial tension. I was just looking at a plot of how people felt about racial relations and from 200-2014 about 70% said it was good. After 2014 it is now like 25% say it is good. What happened in 2014?

CRT is the personification of the “man” holding people down. It, not shockingly, omits data that contradicts its premise. More pseudoscience by the social sciences. My professional concern with It is its spill over into real science.

I’m sorry but that woman speaking in that audio was pitiful to listen to. Get a life. I mean really?

So if a civil war starts what do the labs do? I guarantee that the labs have some Trump supporters, maybe not very many but some. We are already seeing some of this at Sandia, but if things go really crazy in November what happens then? I know this may seem a bit over the top but there are now serious people saying that some kind of civil war or major civil unrest is a real possibility. Our institutions may start tearing themselves apart and the military, government and the labs will not be immune. We now have a signifiant number of people who actually think that there are large sections of the population that are literally fascists that need to be stoped by any means necessary. I have been saying for some time that this is going to get ugly.

I saw this video and seems to me that the woman speaking in the video has her interests somehow affected. What is the problem with promoting or hiring a person that is not Anglo American if that person is performing better than her/his Anglo peers. There will always be that someone that question the advancement of Black or Brown because for years they have been under the belief that only Anglo Americans are capable of doing the job. No offense intended here but those are facts.

" There will always be that someone that question the advancement of Black or Brown because for years they have been under the belief that only Anglo Americans are capable of doing the job. No offense intended here but those are facts. "

Do you have any evidence to back this up "as facts". It is a pretty vague statement. Is it someone in the entire world, or is it someone on a hiring and promotion committee? I have been on close to 100 committees for various things and not once has someone questioned the advancement of someone on race. Just my personal experience.

Also I am confused by your statement " What is the problem with promoting or hiring a person that is not Anglo American if that person is performing better than her/his Anglo peers" I cannot find anything like that whatsoever in the video, so how did you come to that conclusion? It is very odd.

Also you seem to focus on "Black or Brown " Who exactly does this include, Asians, east Asians, Native Americans, Hispanic, Pacific Islanders, (Some Hispanics are not even close to be being brown), Filipino, people from Sicily, Persians? The whole thing is very odd if you think about and rather problematic as they say, especially if you look at how different groups are doing in the US when you consider wealth distributions. It seems some whole groups are left out, others are pushed and yet others are blamed however there seems to be no real rational behind much of this.

The craziness at Los Alamos continues. People are stealing Trump signs, someone posted a photos of the thief and now people are saying you cannot post photos with permission since they are a minor. False, it is in fact legal, you can photograph anyone who is in public regardless of age, much less someone who is a thief. So the guy gets his sign stolen and than gets blamed when he posts the photo of the thief. This is on top of the people who are actually saying the thief was just being a good person for stealing a sign. When people start saying stuff like this you know you have a problem.

Now what I don't get is why put the sign on your lawn, will that really change someones mind, also stealing it will not do anything either.

Your nonsense is not "a bit over the top," it is way over the top conspiracy theory stuff that should have no place on this blog. Why is Scooby permitting this blatant partisan political garbage here? This is about a national scientific laboratory. Let's keep it that way.

More garbage. This is not related to LLNL/LANL and should not be permitted on this blog.

Plutonium Shots on NIF.

Tri-Valley Cares needs to be on this if they aren't already. We need to make sure that NNSA and LLNL does not make good on promises to pursue such stupid ideas as doing Plutonium experiments on NIF. The stupidity arises from the fact that a huge population is placed at risk in the short and long term. Why do this kind of experiment in a heavily populated area? Only a moron would push that kind of imbecile area. Do it somewhere else in the god forsaken hills of Los Alamos. Why should the communities in the Bay Area be subjected to such increased risk just because the lab's NIF has failed twice and is trying the Hail Mary pass of doing an SNM experiment just to justify their existence? Those Laser EoS techniques and the people analyzing the raw data are all just BAD anyways. You know what comes next after they do the experiment. They'll figure out that they need larger samples. More risk for the local population. Stop this imbecilic pursuit. They wan...

Trump is to gut the labs.

The budget has a 20% decrease to DOE office of science, 20% cut to NIH. NASA also gets a cut. This will  have a huge negative effect on the lab. Crazy, juts crazy. He also wants to cut NEA and PBS, this may not seem like  a big deal but they get very little money and do great things.

LLNL un-diversity

Actual post from Dec. 15 from one of the streams. This is a real topic. As far as promoting women and minorities even if their qualifications are not as good as the white male scientists, I am all for it. We need diversity at the lab and if that is what it takes, so be it.  Quit your whining. Look around the lab, what do you see? White male geezers. How many African Americans do you see at the lab? Virtually none. LLNL is one of the MOST undiverse places you will see. Face it folks, LLNL is an institution of white male privilege and they don't want to give up their privileged positions. California, a state of majority Hispanics has the "crown jewel" LLNL nestled in the middle of it with very FEW Hispanics at all!
