I just received my annual TCP-1 letter from LLNS and a summary of the LLNS Pension Plan. Looked in pretty good shape in 2013. About 35% overfunded (funding target attainment percentage = 134.92%). This was a decrease from 2012 where it was 51% overfunded (funding target attainment percentage = 151.59%). They did note that the 2012 change in the law on how liabilities are calculated using interest rates improved the plan's position. Without the change the funding target attainment percentages would have been 118% (2012) and 105% (2013). 2013 assets = $2,057,866,902 2013 liabilities = $1,525,162,784 vs 2012 assets = $1,844,924,947 2012 liabilities = $1,217,043,150 It was also noted that a slightly different calculation method ("fair market value") designed to show a clearer picture of the plan' status as December 31, 2013 had; Assets = $2,403,098,433 Liabilities = $2,068,984,256 Funding ratio = 116.15% Its a closed plan with 3,781 participants. Of that number, 3,151 wer...

I thought he already did that once under Obama? Or am I confusing him with another position.
All I remember is people going on about his hair, they could never get past his hair for some reason.
I think the real choice is going to surprise everybody.
The rumor is that it is Neil Degrasse Tyson, anyone else hear this?

NASA would out and out refuse that. They actually have people that know something about astronomy and while Neil may be find for TV shows and such he himself has very little in the way of an actual scientific accomplishments.
Oddly enough he is probably way over quailed for the DOE position. Over the years these positions are often more political in nature where we had people with far less experience than Neil. I think the DOE position is far more likely and he in fact would more qualified than many of the bizarre cases we have had in the past. We already had Rick Peery how could not even name the DOE but wanted to get rid of it. Not to mention Hazel O'Leary. I thought we also had a dentists at some point. I think Greta Thundberg is more likely (that's a joke). But it could something like Rob Emanual.

Why does anything need to change?

Please do try to keep up.
Keep up with what? Progressive drivel?

"Keep doin' what you're doin', and you'll keep gettin' what you've got." How many deaths last week?

And that will change on inauguration day? Unlikely. Probably not until sometime in June when a majority of the population is vaccinated, but not if most refuse to get the vaccine. The population of the US could decide tomorrow to just stop transmitting the virus. Stay away from other people. Full stop.

It does not work that way, people need to eat, a place to live. Things need to be fixed, life still goes on so the virus still gets around, no matter what.
In any case would you deny someones right to protest?
You have a right to protest. You have no right to infect me or anyone else while doing so.
